In the shower

I apologize if this sounds REALLY stupid, but I need to ask it anyway. The man loves to get "tipsy" and take showers together. I'm not the type of person who likes to take showers or baths with anyone else for that matter. The water is too hot (when it's too cold for him), we are constantly knocking stuff down in the shower and it's just annoying because I live in an apartment and my bath/shower isn't the biggest.
He gets frustrated because he said I like to kill all the fun, but it's not my idea of fun to get soaking wet in the shower and then hop in the bed with nasty wet hair.
I must sound like a complete bitch, but I HATE taking showers together. It has nothing to do with him, but I just hate the thought of soaking wet hair and going to bed and then having the soap and shampoo bottles dropped on my foot five times in a row

Anyone else feel this way? How can you make the shower more "user friendly"?

Well if you really want to try it, keep your shampoo on the floor of the shower so it doesn't drop too far if it does drop and maybe let him be under the water most of the time. I think the temperature is something you're both going to have to be willing to compromise.

Okay so you're talking about showering before bed?

I can understand what you mean, cuz it can be awkward. But what I'd do, is get the water right for the both of you guys, then hop in. And I would like shampoo my hair while he'd be washing his body and I'd be under the showerhead, and then after I was done, we'd switch and I'd let him have the showerhead so he could rinse and do whatever else, and I'd wash my body, and then we'd just keep switching. Orrrr you could wash him, and then switch, and he could wash you and then switch.

I'd definetly keep the shampoo on the floor of the tub or maybe the edge of the tub (where u sit to shave ur legs)...

LoL and tell his ass to calm down and quit knocking shit over if he wants to shower with you

Yes ma'am you are right. He likes to shower and have foreplay in the shower before we take it to the bed. I've been kicked out the last two times because I got pissed off over all of the shit dropping on my feet and he said I kept ruining the moment

Ohhhh okay I thought u meant like, just to shower. Well in that case, do you guys really have to wash ur hair and stuff? If its just a quick shower before sex, I'd just wash up... and in that case, shit wouldnt be dropping on you...

I don't like to wash my hair at night before we go to bed, so I always put it up on top of my head but he always ends up taking the tie out so it gets all nasty and wet.
He just has a thing for taking showers at night, and it's usually when he's drinking, so like 2x a week.
Otherwise, if we have "boom boom" in the middle of the day we just take care of the bidness and go on our merry way.

I don't see the need for a shower 2x a week with him, but he enjoys it. This is a man who fell asleep in the shower last week for over an hour and ran up my damned water bill

I can somewhat relate. My hubby is 6'4"-6'5". It's really hard to have "fun" in the shower together. The stupid shower head isn't even tall enough for him, lol. The only nice thing is that it is a roman tub. But we do make it work every now and then!

Well do you have a shower caddy? That might be beneficial. Also tie your hair up. Tell him that if he unties it he gets no lovin'. Does he only want to shower with you after he's been drinking? If so, tell him to stop because you don't want to injure your feet anymore.

I agree... showers and baths are so uncomfortable!
And I loathe that pruney/rubbery skin feel.... Uggh... *shudders*

I'm not a big fan of showers together. If it happens though, don't let him take your hair down (compromise #1), find a water temp that works for both of you (compromise #2), and just put everything (soaps and whatnot) on the ground. That's the only way I can see it working....

I'm a fan of showers, but I ALWAYS have my hair up. If I just got my hair on sale I damn sure won't get it wet. My beau and I have a mutual understanding of this. And in our respective showers, we have places for all of our soaps and stuff. I have a little caddy that's off to the side of the tub, where everything is in easy reach and won't fall. You should look into one!

I've often suggested a bath, as I would enjoy that instead. To me, a shower is quick and a bath would be longer & romantic. But he doesn't like baths, good lord.

I live in an apartment with my SO and we're in the same situation. I don't particularly like showering with someone although I'm not as against it as you seem =) , while he loves to shower together. The only way I've been able to handle it is with the agreement that we don't have to get out at the same time and that we have lots of time to do it. You do have to switch places so it can take longer. I get in the shower first so I can do the things that I hate do with him there (aka shave legs and the initial soap up). I then get out when I'm done and take the next 5-10 minutes to dry up, etc.

On the plus side, your breasts are never as clean as when you shower with a man.

I agree with you! I don't like taking showers with my husband for the same reasons... and having sex in the shower doesn't work too well because he is way taller than me. and we slip around.
If he wants to take showers with you, he should try taking a bath with you...if you don't learn to compromise things will turn shitty, garunteed. Drinking in the bathtub is fun anyways, haha.
So I don't shower with him hardly ever. Once in awhile to make him happy, but not so much. There are so many other fun ways to do it you just have to do lots of experimenting to keep things fun and new. Then you guys will find something you both think are fun.

p.s. we tried bathing together and it was really squished, that is one reason why he may not think it's the best idea.

^Well if you're sharing a bath, you don't need as much water...

The only way I can really get the shower to work is if he is behind...I can't wrap a leg around since mine are so short, my balance sucks, and he's about the same height as I am. And doing it laying down in the tub...not exactly workable. The Cosmo Kama Sutra's water edition must have had some insane showers, huge tubs...or impossibly flexible folk.
