Re: I got the call!

Not long at all, about a day or two after my last interview. It was by far the best phone call of my life!!!!

Good luck to you!

Ok everyone this was my first weekend working at MAC! I had to work all day on Friday at my FT job and then was scheduled 5-10PM at MAC. It was a great first experience! I jumped right in and started selling my AUS was very good and I was upbeat the whole evening -I even recieved my first gratis! whoo hoo!!! I worked yesterday to 4-10, had my first actual makeover apt. it was very overwhelming but I kept my cool and did my best. My feet are killing me!!! they were swollen by the end of the night! but it's worth it! I start Basic this week and I'm so excited. Working for MAC is way more than standing there looking pretty and selling cosmetics, it's hard, hard work and you have to be dedicated and put your whole self into your job, in two days I can see that I had transfored into that person, and although exhausted I can't wait to do it all over again!!!

Hi all,

I usually just scope the posts out and the information I've gotten is great. I just wanted to say that I did my demo today and was hired on as a freelancer. I have everyone to thank on here for being so up front about their experiences and giving me a lot of insight. THANK YOU!!!!!

First off....this site is awesome! I am always looking for people who share the same desire for MAC as I do! It truley is a wonderful cosmetic line!

Anyway - As I have read it seems that interviews vary from region to region. A couple months back I got wind of an "open interview" at one of the area malls - This was in an actual MAC store. So I drove up there, brought my daughter as my model, and was nervous to the point of feeling sick!
First mistake - I brought my own brushes and some of my own products!
( the trainer told me not to use any of my own, but to choose from what was in the store - although I could use my own brushes)

Second mistake - I didn't wear ALL BLACK!

Third mistake - When the trainer would critique my work, I would reply with "Oh I knew that, Oh I was going to do that" - BIG NO NO!!!!

I was told to do a day into night look with a 30 minute window -
I didn't even make it to the night look, he pulled me aside and sat me down
we discussed where I needed improvement. I left feeling like an idiot after driving all that distance - BUT instead of sulking

- I turned it into a true learning experience! PART II to follow!!!

ok so am i!!!!!!!!!! new so can someone please tell me how to post or thread how ever you call it!!!!!!!!!!!! iv been at for about an hour now and i dont grt the hang og it

Well I have completed Basic! What an experience! I did work two weekends prior to attending and I did great, my AUS was high, my manager and the girls are great! Everyone works together! I am so lucky to be working with such wonderful gifted people. Basic was amazing! I learned SOOOOO much! Some days it was alot to take in and boy did I sleep good. The trainers are terrific and really know their stuff! It's an honor to learn from these successful, artistic individuals!!!! I took a ton of notes and will always have them to refer to. I would love to hear about others experiences during Basic - it's such a wonderful way to be introduced to the world of MAC! It's a great company to work for!!!! My manager is already giving me extra hours to work. I guess that's a good sign!
