Is MAC Nail Lacquer Worth It?

I think the quality is lacking. I prefer OPI and Essie. The price doesn't justify the product.

Randy, I think I found the exact match for the Cremesheen polish you want!

Try OPI's Coney Island Cotton Candy. I swear when I saw that today, it looked exactly the same (from the bottle).
It's $8.50 per polish but Ulta has a deal going on (buy 2 get one free).

i am an absolute fan of MACs nail polish, and unlike everyone else here i dont like OPI at all - it is so damn streaky on me!

the other nice brand ive found is revlon, great price too!

MAC nail varnish is a hit and miss for me - sometimes they're rich and lovely like $$$$ yes (i am a dead sucker for metallics) and some are hit and miss (alot of the cremes are too pail and streak)

one day i hope they get it right - CHANEL makes the best cosmetic line nail treatments non cosmetic; OPI. it's a dead winner

I love some of the colors of MAC lacquer but the quality isn't that great. I love OPI for durability and they have a wide range of colors

Ok I just got my Seasonal Peach nailpolish in yesterday and to be honest, I'm really not all that impressed. I owned a few colors a couple of years ago that they don't make anymore and I remember the bottle being somewhat bigger. My bottle of Seasonal Peach looks smaller than I remember my other colors being.
I really loved the look of the nails on the model's hands as part of the CremeSheen promo picture on MACs site, it almost has a pearly look to them. However, Seasonal Peach in real life, doesn't do all that much for me and doesn't look all that similar to the picture on their site. It's a nude pink/peach, moreso pink. I put on one coat on my thumbnail yesterday and it streaked pretty bad, but that usually happens to me when I try and wear lighter/nude colors.

To be honest, no I don't think $11 is worth if for MACs nail polish, especially Seasonal Peach. I've seen similar colors for much cheaper.

I do think the nail lacquers are expensive, they're £8 here - about $16, which is too much, especially when I can buy others brands of equal quality for about £2. I don't own many nail lacquers in general though because I have gel nails and only paint my toes. I've own 4 MAC ones though, Girls Will be Girls, Boom, Vestral White and Gold Veneer. Personally I like the shades a lot, they're all pretty unique, very pretty and I love doing the Antiquitease inspired look with the latter 2 it gets a lot of comments. So I think they were a good investment.

Seasonal Peach looks lovely in the promo photos but it sounds like in reality it's not so fantastic. I'll be passing!

Im not a big nail person in general. But I did get the dark navy from naughty nauticals, and plasma blue from Neo Sci fi because they were gorgeous colors!

I like most of their nailpolishes, but the cream formulas are the WORST, imo. At the counter when I was buying cremesheen stuff, the MA was like, "if you like the new lippies you should check out the new polish." She stuck her toes out, and I instantly remembered how terrible these are. Her streaky toes did not suck me back into making the same mistake. NO Thanks!

I mostly own MAC polishes but tbh I'm starting to regret them. The colours I LOVE (Violet Femme, how I love and ration thee) I will try to make them work but I do find that after a number of uses, the formula doesn't hold up to chipping as well. Also the creams are much streakier and take more effort (or more tries) to get an even finish.

Despite the lure of LE colours, I'm going to hold out from getting MAC polishes unless I really really love the colour. I think I'm switching to OPI pretty much for good, especially if I can find decent dupes.

Last but not least, thanks Patty for the OPI dupe for Seasonal Peach!
