I am so sorry for your loss. I can empathize. I have always had a pet. DH and I are so "pet-whipped". They are family. I know it will be a rough one when the time comes for one of our guys.

It sounds like you and your dog had quite a bond. That is such a reflection on the way you cared for her. Sounds like you guys were lucky to have each other.

Don't feel bad about thinking about another dog. That doesn't diminish or lessen your love for your dog that just passed. In fact, I can't think of a better way to honour your dogs memory, than by saving another lucky dog.

When the right time and the right dog comes along, you will know that you are ready.

I wish you as much peace as possible through this tough time. I'm sending some hugs your way. Take care, hon.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pets are another member of the family. I have 2 cats and love them dearly. I have always had pets. I remember when our dog died when I was 14, I cried for weeks. We had him since I was around 5 or 6.

You should definately get another dog when you are ready and you find the right one. You aren't replacing her but giving your love to another dog.

I hope you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.

I had a cat since i was 4 and it had to be put to sleep at the age of almost 19 because of the vitalt didn't work properly anymore. This was the only humane thin to do because I could really se she was suffering i cried and cried and even the vet was crying cause everything was so emotionel. this cat was a member of the family not just a pet and there's never going to be anyone like her.
I also got a new pet to take my mind of all the sorrow and it really helped, and guess what? she's adorable and i love her to death now, but i'll never forget my first cat ever.

i'm thinking about going to the shelter this weekend and looking around to see if any dog really cliques with me...thank you all for your support.

I am so sorry to hear about your pup. I had to put two of my dogs down in two years, and it broke my heart. I didn't go to work for a week after each one. They become a part of your family, and you are grieving. there's nothing wrong with that, or with wanting to get a new pup. Good luck at the shelter, and I am sure that one of those lucky dogs in there will get to go home with you. Just keep an open heart and you'll find a new friends.
