Hey all, I just saw that Sephora carries his stuff and was wondering if anyone liked any of it

I'm particularly curious to know if anyone has had experience with the Skin Enhancer or foundation?

I use his sculpting powder in my kit and it's lovely, it works for most fair to medium dark skin and some after, but not for anything after a MAC nc45/50 skintone. His concealer is lovely, I've tried it, you need to really work it into the skin.

I did play with it a little in the store and found that it's hard to match to my skin. However, I'm not opposed to mixing if something is a great product. It seemed like it would cover like crazy and give a really smooth finish, but then I wondered if it would also rub off easily. I guess I wondered how cakey it is when worn.

i havent tried any of the face products, but check out the lip gloss in Alurabliss Blue - its a pretty sky blue lip gloss that goes on sheer without being too cool and has tiny sparkles, i personally love it

Do you use the Skin Enhancer as a foundation or as a concealer? I was thinking it was foundation, but then someone said it's a concealer.

The foundation is great for photography -- the concealer is great too. For normal day wear, I find that they take time to apply. Lippies are lovely colors but I don't like the scent too much. I ADORE the Sculpting powder -- that is my favorite.

I wouldn't recommend the Sensual Skin Enhancer for anyone with really oily skin. I bought it and returned it because I looked like I had grease paint on after an hour or two. One of the first ingredients is mineral oil.

I went and trialed it today and ended up coming home with it. It is greasy but I can see that if I use it with care not to pack on too much it should go well. Also picked up a Laura Mercier Illuminating foundation to add to anything to get a 'glowy' look. I'm excited to try that. I like the way the Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer looked. It is staying on nicely too.

I love the eyeshadow palettes. I have 4 of them. The quality is very high - great colour payoff and they last really well through the day. They are expensive, but I really like them.

It's made to be used as either. It's super versatile being able to be used as a heavy foundation or concealor, but the product is intended to be played with. You can use it straight, you can sheer it out, you can do lots of things with it.

Personally I just dab a bit under my eyes after moisturizer and then blend my foundation on top of it. My shade is a tad yellow and probably too light for me, but blended into foundation it looks like a dream. It stays really well too. It's been like 10 hours and it's still there.

Can someone tell me how you would typically 'sheer' a foundation out? LOL, I thought I knew a lot about makeup until I got on here and started to talking with all of you.

As an aside, I came home yesterday from Sephora and realized my face had broken out into a rash. The MA put about 4 different products on my face so I don't know which caused it but I'm afraid it might have been the Aucoin Skin Enhancer.

If you are afraid it might be the A foundation do a swatch test on your inner arm, and give it a couple of days. If it makes you break out, it's probably the KA.

Thanks for the explanation Frocher! I'm learning, always learning more!

Exactly right. You can also mix it with other makeups for example a tinted moisturizer, a normal foundation, or things like MAC's Fix+.

It's fun to experiment!
