"Killer" Virus Spreading in the U.K.

i think a lot of nhs hosps are dirty! (not ALL but a lot ARE) my dad got a really bad infection from just a rountine operation and it DID come from the operation because he was told so by our local gp! i personally wouldnt want to stay in any of my local ones for a long period of time...and iv heard simular things to what vocaltest has said from close friends of mine.

i think the norovirus is obviously hyped...newspapers hype everything! but i can believe it comes from poo! i was in maccyds the other day n out of 3 people i was the only one to wash my hands before leaving the loo. which is DISGUSTING they were actually quite happy to go eat with dirty hands...and erm yeh i REALLY wanted 2 touch the door after they unshamedly waltzed out with filthy hands!!!!

Yup, and it shows up amongst cruise ship passengers A LOT! I've worked the land portion of Alaska cruising, and every summer we get a couple outbreaks where we have to "fog" all the hotel rooms and motorcoaches with really intense chemicals. People always get angry asking how they got it, and I'm like, umm maybe b/c you didn't wash your hands and ate poop.

Unfortunately part of the territory.

It's not just poo, it's saliva, vomit, any body fluid really, i got it in june and it was horrible...it's deadly only for weak people (elderly and babies)

True but it originates from fecal matter, directly or indirectly.

I'lll bet if they started calling it the "Poo Virus", it would have a huge embarassing stigma attached to it and people might start being more sanitary. Not that it would help the sanitary people who catch it from others unsanitary practices.
