MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection (May 22, 2014)

If any of you lovely ladies have Fathoms Deep and its not working for you and you're thinking of returning it, please let me know. I would be happy to take it off your hands.

Its the only item that I wanted that I couldn't get, missed it at MAC online, Nordies, and at the MAC store. When I called them the store said they had only gotten in 3 to sell. Grrrr.

I went to the MAC store in the afternoon and the place was packed because it was full of mothers and daughters getting makeovers for graduation. To my surprise, they didn't had the collection up. I went to Macy's instead and even though it was really full because of graduation week they had the collection up next to Playland, and Maleficent. I tried everything from the collection, even one of the bronzers and ED stuff. Enchanted One was too beige and dark for me so it was a pass. Pet Me Please was too shiny frosty mauve for my liking and Goddess of the Sea looked like a muted version of Strong Woman; both were a pass for me. Mystical is a nice muted rose-red and it didn't had brown tones when I wore it, it's a bit dark and perhaps may look boring but it was exactly what I expected. Siren Song was a complete surprise! Everyone needs to give it a chance and try it in stores. It's a nice and smooth barely there beige with a bit of sheen that looks very natural on lips. None of the swatches online will do any justice for Siren Song, none. The only possible dupe that I can think of is Bianca Ora Shine Automatique from Guerlain. Bianca Ora is more clear and slip, and has a glittery sheen instead of a pearly sheen like Siren Song. I never expected to like it so much, so yeah I bought that one along with Mystical.

The eye shadows are all lovely, but most of them can be duped. The unique ones imo were Lorelei, Fathoms Deep, and Silver Sun. However, I found them too small and expensive for my liking which was the only reason why I didn't buy any. I didn't like the EDSFs and Refined Golden looks like a glitter bomb bronzer. Golden was much better and I would only buy it for the packaging but yeah, restraint is important unless you want to get it for the packaging and switch the bronzer for a beauty powder or something. The blushes were alright but nothing special. The lip glosses were not of my interest, but the standouts were Clear Water and Water Deities. I didn't care about the nail polishes and the lip liners.

The packaging is a dream come true.

The color and the water droplets texture are definitely the stars of the collection. The SA was so fascinated by it and he told me that it was the prettiest packaging he had seen from MAC and I agree with him. The hidden gem is Siren Song.

I have Altered Beige and really like it. I usually do like nude lipsticks but most nude lipsticks have some color to them unlike SS which is basically clear. As my lips have no pigment in them, SS isn't the right lipstick for me.

I was just reading the 'Pedro' thread & it looks like it's a no go :shock: too bad I wanted a few things from it. Now I have a little money left for more AA if I can find anything!

I really hope so because I purchased most of this collection without seeing it in person. Had I known that Nordies would need 10 days to deliver it I would have just waited and bought it tomorrow. My package won't arrive until the 27th.

I went to try it in store. And I looked cray. Too light on me hahha I'm very glad tho.

Soooooo I am at the counter um EO and VT are nothing alike on me! EO and KS pretty much on the money! I swatched PMP its pretty but really too frosty for me! They had one of each lipstick left! I left with a BU of SS :yahoo:

When I was at the counter I tried on GotS and SMHM and had a whole look going on along with AS, but I couldn't take a good pic of it to save my life. My eyes have been so puffy all day from my allergies and it just didn't look good. Curse you pollen!
