One thing, I don't think it's the sort of product you want to wear high coverage foundation underneath - it'd probably have a more unnatural effect. Over bare skin or some tinted moisturizer is the way to go with it. If that's not your style, it's probably not going to be the right product for you.
I didn't even bother to test it. I guess when i go back to MAC later this week i'll give Amber Glow a try. I picked up my Hot Chocolate and Taupe Shape today - that's all i pre-ordered.
I don't reach for Stereo Rose that much either.
I totally passed on SR. It was pretty, but way too orange for me. I did pick up Porcelain Pink today, although i originally planned to pass on it, too.
GD was pretty plain on me too - I didn't buy it. Hot Chocolate's a much more interesting color. It'll certainly look different on different people. It's not a "normal" color, though. It's definitely the most unusual lipstick in the collection. I didn't think it was too brown or too grey to be hard to wear, but it's not a standard lipstick shade. It's the definition of TAUPE. I don't think this is one people should buy before they try unless they're fearless or remember the 90's, hehe. Worse case scenario, it ought to get more mauve-y if worn over a lip pencil like Just Wonderful, from Tour de Fabulous or more pink over Dervish or the like.
Glamour Daze lipstick was (big shrug) for me. But I knew i had to have Hot Chocolate as soon as i saw it. And i have the Just Wonderful pencil - thanks for the suggestion!
Maybe i missed something about makeup in the 90s, what look are you're referring to?
