Next up, the Pearlmattes. First of all, the white border is overspray, and really chintzy overspray - it was gone in one swirl. This is a good thing - it's too white for even my skin tone and would totally look chalky. The rest of the colors go all the way through.
Pink Buttercream looks VERY similar to Veronica's Blush, so if you have that one and are trying to save money, you could skip it. The little periwinkle leaves are a bit small to pick up spot color, unless you used a teeny brush. Blended all together it really is very nice - maybe even a little smoother and less shimmery than VB. I'd say it's a tiny bit superior to VB just for that, so if you missed that one, you can definitely make up for it here. It's a great overall brightener on my skin tone and I think it will have much less chance of looking ashy on darker complexions than VB.
In for a Treat, on the other hand, I loved so much more than the Betty pearlmatte, which I didn't even buy. It looks extremely natural and there's enough of the red concentrated in the center that you can definitely vary how much color you can pick up, so more versatile than PB too. This is going to be the one most people are going to go for, I think, just because it's a more neutral color, but they're both gonna fly right out the door for sure.
Just for a quickie, the nail polishes have a really nice texture and application. However, you can dupe the blue with the pastel blue from China Glaze Avant Garden - Fade Into Hue. They're very very close, although the MAC might be a touch more of a jelly finish. Meanwhile, Pistachio Creme is a glorious bluish mint. I am so tempted to get it, but it looks like China Glaze is coming out with a very similar color in their upcoming Sunsational collection called Keeping It Teal. The big difference is KIT is supposed to be a straight neon jelly, so I am figuring it will be a bit brighter and from the few pictures out there, it might be a bit more green. If you're trying to save bucks, then you could probably hold out for CG - it is a third of the price, after all… I might break down and get Pistachio Creme, though - it's an eye popper. The one I KNOW I will get is Confectionary, which is a gorgeous almost jelly, with a hint of purple opalescence that's really subtle- hard to tell if it's actually opalescence or just the subtle way the color is mixed. There are a lot of pale pink polishes out there, but Confectionary brings something special to the table. MAC is great at coming up with unique neutrals in their nail polishes. Essie tries to do colors like these, but they're never quite this rich.
