I cant wait to get the 226. Dont get me wrong. I love my 217, but it's a tad too big for my small eyes. Once I get the 226, I'll probably switch to using my 217 for concealers.

Omg Im so excited! Thanks so much Erine! Ummm for now Im skipping ALL MSFs....I have 3 (petticoat light flush warmed) Since I have two pinks, I dont think I need blonde. Since I have warmed, i think Ill skip brunette. The only one that interests me at this point is Redhead....Im waiting for more swatches of them before I decide!

So tomorrow will be glorious! Im only getting the shadows, sticks and glosses. I need some mac wipes and the 217...dunno if i can afford it....

ONE LAST QUESTION (to anyone who will answer).....I have NO blending brush...my eyes are pretty small (see profile pic/avatar) Should I get the 217 or take a chance on the...226?

The 222 is a lovely brush. It's decently stiff (but still soft!), so that's nice. You may want to feel that up if you're headed to MAC in person so you can compare - you may find them both quite handy for different purposes.

No blending brush!? *cries*

The 217 is my favourite ever. It's just so multi purpose! So, if the 226 is super close to the 224, you have to consider some of the differences other than size. I know the 224 gives a softer line, more spread out blend of colour, while the 217 is denser and can be more precise/intense/etc. I also like it a lot better when I have a harsh line I need to blend out, as I find the 224 too soft for that. So... what kind of blending are you generally looking for? The 222 may be a compromise between the two...

If this doesn't make sense, forgive me, as my words are a bit broken right now.

I say go for 226. I have small eyes too (Asian eyes, but not mono-lid tho), and I find 217 a bit too big for my eyes. It ends up spreading the colors all over the lid and making them muddy (unless I can be very patience and do it slowly and precisely).

Did I tell you I'm uber excited for 226?

Hey im NC15 too, ive never bought one of the msf and im thinking about both blonde and redhead. From your experience, which colour would be the nicest on? Or would they both be?

Oh god, i knew i should have stayed off this thread, i was trying to avoid BBR but i kept seeing it creeping up in every discussion. I give up.

My list:

MSF - Redhead & Blonde (both or maybe one, depending on how they are on)

L/G - Red Devil

E/S - Femme Fi, French Cuff, Pincurl, maybe Flip

LOL. Yup. Before I got my 217, I have no blending brushes at all.

And boy oh boy, my eyeshadows are not blended at all. After I got the 217, I love it to death. Even tho it's a bit big for my eyes, but I still love it.

Growing, shrinking, doing the time warp... It's all over the place! I think I'm going to try to keep it pretty reasonable, though. I can dupe a lot of the shadows, and I can live without most of the lipstuff at this point.

My tentative list at this point is Femme Fi, Redhead MSF, Blonde MSF, Blowdry, Marquis D', Red Devil. Maybes include Pincurl (leaning toward not, though), Strawberry Blonde, Live and Dye if it impresses me in person, and... that's about it at this point. I think Copperplate will be coming home with me, too.
greengrin.gif
The redhead lipsticks may exit the list if they aren't pigmented enough for me. The maybes are truly uncertain, and if they don't impress me, I'll can them. The list has gotten pretty tame... 214 is for a later date, and I'll hope to find 226 and Brunette MSF later in the Clearance Bin... I just don't have the funds right now.

Erine, sorry to add to the growing list of questions but is the Redhead MSF very orange IRL? In some pics it looks way too orange for my lighter than NW15 skin but in others it looks great. Much appreciate all the info you're giving us!

She said earlier that it's a peachy tan and not orange, I believe. Sounds like we're the same skintone and I'm definitely planning to get this one!

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but there is a brush very similar to the new 214, Sephora makes it. They have nice brushes for the price, actually. It's their #14 smudger brush... and while I haven't actually seen the 214 in person yet, from the pics i've seen they look pretty similar.

MAC #214:

And this is the Sephora #14:

You can zoom in by going here --> http://sephora.com/browse/product.jh...ategoryId=B70#

I have the sephora brush and love it.. it applies shadow like a dream, and it's only $12.

So yeah, just putting that out there in case someone is looking for a cheaper (but good quality) alternative.

Re: MAC - Brunette Blonde Redhead Collection Discussion (Hair was WN)

I have seen Sephora #14 just last month because the store just opened and it sold out in 2 weeks. I didn't get it because I know 214 is coming so I hope to try and decide which to get.

Just a note that 217 is a good blending brush but like what caramel_geek said, it is a little too big on my eyes too and it spreads the shadow too far out if I don't control well. 226 looks good, though I love to get the Chanel dupe!

Seeing swatches gives me a better idea and keeps me excited. I want Blonde and Redhead MSFs! I have never seen So Ceylon, Petticoat and Warmed. Can't wait to see the new stripped MSFs.
