The Bunny Review
Okay! I have been SOOOOO busy for the last few weeks! Sorry it took me this long! I am sitting here with my update book and notes and I'm gonna share my thoughts on this collection.
I'm going to go over everything by product, not by hair color.
Lipstick
Chignon (Brunette) - It is a sheer burgundy red-plum. It applied very creamy and pretty. It goes on skin very very sheer, so don't be afraid of it. When on it translates into just a deep plummy tint unless you build it with a brush.
What A Do! (Brunette) - This color is so unique and fun! It's a frost, and it goes on very metallic. A peachy creamy pink, it reminds me instantly of Time & Space from Neo Sci-Fi but for the lips. It gives the lips a subtle warm peach-gold frost.
Marquise d' (Redhead) - Gorgeous!! A mid-tone pinky peach lustre. It is soo pretty. I want it. It has a very fine subtle peachygold pearlized pigment finish.
Blow Dry (Redhead) - A pink-peach lustre. Very feminine. Has a golden pearlized finish. I think this one will be very popular with all hair colors.
B-Babe (Blonde) - The ultimate blonde lip color. This one is a medium-pale pink frost with a hint of plum in it. This color makes me think "classic blonde" movie star pink. It's just such a perfect choice for the blonde category!
All's Fair (Blonde) - Sheer purpley-pink. Think the packaging for Infatuating Rose from the holiday palettes. It's a lustre with a gentle pearlized finish, and it's very pretty but unexpected. It reminds me of Viva Glam VI but with more purple pink, than purple red.
Lipglass
Quick Tease (Brunette) - A perfect compliment to Chignon. A frosty red plum lipglass. Will deepen and intensify the plum lip provided by Chignon.
Soft Wave (Brunette) - Such a pretty color! Though I'd expect this for summer not spring. A tan gold. Think Blonde's Gold pigment mixed with Chai.
Live and Dye (Redhead) - Omg love! A pale pinky peach with gentle pearlized pigments. Perfect alone or with a pale lipstick.
Red Devil (Redhead) - An unexpected frosted pink-coral. Very opaque. A great compliment to any coral toned lipstick.
Strawberry Blonde (Blonde) - Viva Glam VI lipglass. This is SO Viva Glam VI lipglass!! No I haven't swatched them next to each other (VGVI probably has a bit more sparkle) but it is definitely similar. They're both red-plum with intense shimmer. If you like this color, go with Viva Glam VI Lipglass because at least that goes towards our charity.
Peroxide (Blonde) - So beautiful and effortless for anyone. Clear lipglass with white and pink pearlized pigments. Perfect.
Eyeshadow
Deep Shade (Brunette) - A deep navy blue frost. I love it. It's very unique compared to the permanent line, and would make a perfect smoky eye on any skintone (with any hair color).
Henna (Brunette) - Oh. My. Goodness. This shadow is sooo gorgeous. It's a veluxe pearl so obviously it's AMAZING. It goes on smoothly and opaque. It's an olive gold. It's base is dark but the frosty pearlized pigments are bright gold so it gives an awesome dimension and contrast all in one eyeshadow.
Femme Fi (Brunette) - This color became one of my favorites when it came out in Neo Sci-Fi earlier this year. It's a veluxe pearl and sooo creamy and blendable! It's a soft cream with an intense golden frost.
Flip (Redhead) - Flip is a frosty yellow gold-bronze. Soo pretty and again, very summery. Would make a gorgeous all-over-eye wash color on any skintone.
French Cuff (Redhead) - A GORGEOUS black burgundy lustre. Very buildable and intense, similar to Pandamonium in how it's a Lustre and doesn't suck (in my opinion). Think if Sketch married Beauty Marked and they had a lovechild. I want it!!
100 Strokes (Redhead) - A warm frosty bronze-pink with reddish pearlized pigments. The decription given by MAC is "Ice Pink". Maybe I looked at the wrong product? We'll have to wait and see when it comes out.
Pincurl (Blonde) - A beautiful sheer frosty white. Pretty but hardly unique.
Knight (Blonde) - A smooth shadow labeled as a veluxe pearl, but I think it may be a satin. It is deep grey with a gentle sheen to it. Personally, I really love it. It's a soft grey and would make a pretty all over lid color, or crease color. Would go perfect with Shroom or Naked Lunch.
Top Knot (Blonde) - Finally a black-purple shade! It's a velvet intense black-eggplant with purple sparkle finish. Love!
I think it's interesting that the choices for Blondes are all dark and smoky. It's interesting that the other haircolors got a highlight, a neutral, and a dark color, and blonde gets 3 dramatic colors. I myself, though prefer the Blonde's choices, haha.
Mineralize Skinfinish
These resemble products like Bobbi Brown's shimmer bricks, where it's strips of several colors meant to be used individually, or swirled all together. Provides limitless personal customization, and provides someone with 4-in-1 blush/highlighter.
Redhead - My favorite!! Overall it's a peachy golden hue. It includes a sheer frosty gold, pale gold bronze, a peach bronze, and finally a pinky-peach salmon color. It's so gorgeous and gives a peachy coral glow to the face. I can't wait to marry it to my Sunbasque blush powder!
Brunette - I like this one, but it is very brown overall and not my personal taste on myself. It will work SO well for deeper complexions though. I can't wait to put it on people! It starts with a frosty peach-bronze, then to an orange tan shimmer, to a deep copper, to a rich copper-bronze. Gorgeous, but really pale brunettes may want to take a look at Redhead or Blonde as well to choose one for herself.
Blonde - This one will be popular. Everyone likes a pink glow and MAC knows it. It starts at a pale white-pink shimmer, then goes to a mid-tone gold pink, to a pale-rose frost, to a rich rose. This one is gorgeous!
Like with all Mineralize Skinfinishes, it gives an instant glow, as well as color, finish. These have little, if any, sparkle chunk as far as I could tell when I saw them. They have much more of just a metallic frost finish, but still not just a glowy effect as we saw with Lightscapade (Danse 06).
This collection is AWESOME. Very high quality. And like with all MAC collections, these aren't strict rules. These shades were inspired by the haircolors. They aren't only meant for that hair color, it is for everyone to enjoy. We aren't prescriptives, we aren't forcing shades on you judged by how you look. I encourage all of you to try ALL of the products in this collection, whether you are brunette, blonde, redhead, greenhead, bluette, or a pinkette.
