MAC - Cham Pale Discussion

The secrecy is bothering me, too. But, when I do find out about collections, I freak out and buy stuff I shouldn't be buying, so they're still getting my money.

I agree a month in advance would be good. At least enough time for me to budget and set funds aside.

This slowness from MAC ain't helping...it's getting less busy on Specktra even, imo. Finding out about products last minute will not help me, I will just feel like it flew over my head when it gets released. I will be swamped with decisions that I will not want to stress or care  I'm just speculating ;) But come on, MAC! At least one month in advance would be decent and, I think, common sense for product awareness :p

it is much slower here and i agree that it is because we dont have as much to talk about because we have no swatches, promos or face charts for he most part :(

It's really stupid of MACs PR people to wait so long before letting info out. Seeing swatches early help creates the buzz and hype about the products, so I don't understand why they do it!

^ I agree that it helps create buzz and hype. Yes, most of us can just go to the store and swatch, but no, not always (and for me, hardly ever). Sometimes time, weather or travel doesn't permit. Sometimes the hype leads to customers buying a certain item in a hurry which then sells out, not a bad thing for MAC. The wait is boring, haha. It will make me check up on updates less and possibly make my excitement die down. :)P

Honestly, 9 times out of 10, being able to evaluate swatches early means I'll be spending more. There's the occasional collection bomb for me, but for the most part swatches ADD more "on the fence" things to my list, and remove far less.

I like having enough time to think about how I'll wear the product, what combos would work for me, if I need/want to get something else to go along with a new item I'm thinking about, and it gives me time to convince myself that I can actually pull off some of the new/in trend colors and looks. It gives me confidence, both in my purchases and in my ability to make new stuff work.

For me, not having swatches around early makes the entire MAC experience more stressful and less fun. With the massive amount of collections they release, I need time to consider what I'll be purchasing based on actual product swatches. Without that time I see myself becoming seriously overwhelmed (especially with the huge collections like SCF, etc.) and moving on to other brands more.

From a PR stand point what they're doing is stupid (IMO) if bloggers etc don't get information than people who are only casually interested will not be notified and they'll miss the collection they may have spent money in. Just doesn't seem like a smart move to me!

I know if I hadn't seen the swatches for the VV collection beforehand I would've only stuck with the Maleficent set, but being able to see everything gave me a better idea of what to get and I bought more. I agree, it's really boring waiting and I wish they'd allow the swatches sooner -- if not for the Cham Pale at least for the Peacocky! lol

I agree with everyone! Although, isn't Cham Pale being released on the 26th of December? We still have more than a month ahead of us, if that's the case, and we should be able to see watches in the next week or so! :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for swatches.

With VV, I was planning to get 5 things. But, because of early swatches and reviews, I ended up with 13.

More than double. I neeeeed swatches MAC! With this one I'm really looking forward to lipgelee swatches. And I'm now on the fence about the eye kohl. Since I got rid of Buttery, I need a replacement.

I'm losing interest in the paint pot I wanted and gaining interest in Fix+. I was just reading a little tiny article on it in InStyle and it made it sound really good (on top of all the stuff you guys have said).

oh yeah fix+ is a total staple in my kit! you can use it for so many things! even hubby likes to use some as a refreshing face spritz when in the hot weather or on holiday!

I have yet to try Fix+, so perhaps this will be my opportunity. On the other hand, I'm not crazy about the smell of lavender and I don't like to spray things in my face, even if it's only a fine mist.
