MAC - Colour Forms Discussion

Damn, so it means we can't get them internationally, like half the other MAC stuff. This gets really frustrating! I really wanted those travel brush sets. :'( Looks like I'll be shelling out $85 for the 187 after all.

We will get Colour Forms in Germany, just like Noveltwist last year. It doesn't matter here that it is a Nordstrom anniversary collection.

So I saw the looks in the update book for these today. The colors are bright and the looks are gorgeous! No product images yet though, and the book ended with colour forms

Meh, not that excited about this, thank goodness!!
I'll probably just get a basic brush set since I really need help with my brush collection and perhaps a pigment and richmetal highlighter once I see pictures.

I stopped by the MAC counter at Nordstroms today and they are already taking pre-orders for this collection.

Did they have the pieces of the collection out to view?

They did not have the actual product however they had the Colour Forms binder and it had product images. The lipsticks look to have a little plate on the tube. The Colour Form powders are not like the Soft Lights as far as looks go, rather they are like a square bulls-eye for the inner three layers and then it rounds out to a circle on the last one. The palettes are wicked awesome-they are bright packaging and they don't look like any palette I've seen before. The brush sets come in the coloured nylon bags like we heard...nothing fancy though. To me, the highlighters looked atrocious. I don't like how they look except for the pink one. The colours aren't anything to write home about.

There weren't images of the pigments, but we already know of Steel Blue and Jardin Aires (what they look like, since Jardin Aires is being repromoed for the second time this year and Steel Blue is a pro colour).

and about the color form powders... if i understand it correctly, wouldn't that bullseye thing make it very difficult to use the colors separately? what's the point of having 4 different colors then (besides looking cool, i guess)?

I try to understand what is meant by the description "bullseye".
I don't think the colors are meant to use seperately. I imagine to use them all together and get a mixed color like the MSFs.

a bullseye is a circle in a circle in a circle, like a dart board. but these are squares apparently.

i agree. they aren't meant to be used separately. you are supposed to swirl the colors together to get a mix of all of em.

these pics of the Colour Form Powder are different from those I had seen before somewhere else.

I know, these pictures that were just posted make everything look a bit better. I could potentially pass on more of the pigments, Gilded Green is looking to be my favourite of them. Tea Time looks bleh, Royal Flush isn't looking terribly great, and I will have to see Circa Plum IRL before making a decision. The pink Colour Form powder is seriously calling my name now.

Yes, you are not meant to use a product like that for just a single colour. You get all the colours with one swipe and it mixes-just like how Erine said the MSF's do.

i do. in the other pics we saw, the colors lined up like tiles. our update book says they are arranged in a geometric pattern. these pics seem more geo than the previous ones.

damnit! i want the 4 new pigments, the richmetal highlighers (i think all of em) and i think both colourform poweders. and with no discount, these are getting charged to the nordies card.
