I went yesterday to pick some up. I got:
Quick Flash: I picked this colour because I am very pale, and I wanted something a little more subtle. I choose this to go with my gold and warm-toned pigments. I am somewhat new to MAC collecting. I have never owned another richmetal highlighter or a cream colour base, and this is absolutely AMAZING. I like how it's not greasy at all... Once it's on, it dries to a powder type finish and it stays put. I finally played with my products today... I put this over the entire eye area, and then did a look with Circa Plum and Tea Time. It looks really amazing with the pigments, and I was really impressed that there was nooooooooo fading at all. It makes a fantastic base. I was also really impressed with how multipurpose it is... It has many uses not just in terms of blush vs. eyeshadow, but also because you can apply it so sheer and blend it in, or built it up. So you can use it to just give the faintest shimmer or go for a real hard-core look. I think I may invest in some more of this type of product in the future. I loved it that much. The only downside I can think of is that it creamier products don't last as long.
Tea Time: I can see why some people didn't like this too much... It's pretty basic brown. I bought it because I don't have many brown pigments in my collection. Its not overly shimmery or frosty, either. I prefer a frostier pigment, although it is quite finely milled. Its texture reminds me of Electric Coral. I can see myself having a lot of uses for this pigment.
Circa Plum: This was the colour I was really excited about. I am not really too crazy about purples (I have three other purple coloured pigments... they are samples I ganked from a friend, I would never have bought them myself), but I like plum colours. I like this because it has some grey/earth tones to it. It's got some subtlety to it and a nice frosty finish. It is not as "creamy" (I am not sure if it's the right word) as some other frosty type pigments that are more finely milled (compared to a shade like perhaps golden olive), but I still enjoy it. I know I am going to use this one a lot. I also haven't see other pigments that are quite like it, and I tend to collect more unusual colours, so I bought this one.
I am a pigment whore, so I might go back and get Gilded Green, because it is really beautiful and I really love greens... I was considering getting Royal Flush, but it seems quite similar to Heritage Rouge, which I think I would prefer. (Or am I crazy for thinking they are close in shade?) I also may pick up Female, since I loooooove
All in all, I think that this is good collection, but I can see why some wouldn't find anything for them (especially with the pigments). Makeup is so subjective and everyone has their own tastes.
The Richmetal highlighters are amazing though. Love.
I can't wait for Overrich. I am going to get a huge pigment haul from that one.
