Dude. WTF?! Don't they see that secret pre-sales create an elitist monopoly over who gets to wear LE MAC????

Oh.. and I hate how she assumed I wasn't invited to the shin dig (ok, I wasn't invited)! But still, she shouldn't ASSume!

This is pretty much the way I'm treated every time I go to Nordstrom. I'm actually very sad that I'll have to go there to buy items from this collection, because I've vowed that I'll never go to that store again. They seem to assume that if you're not wearing the latest (insert designer here), then you don't need service. And it's not just the MAC girls, it seems to be the culture at my store in general. Not knocking any other locations, just the one near me.

I am so excited for the advanced brush set I have wanted a 187 for a while and now I will get it along with some other brushes. I agree that the brush sets a great deal.

I normally shop at a Nordstrom counter, and have NEVER had a bad experience. I get treated with respect and get the same assistance whether I am wearing shorts and flipflops or a dressy suit. I think alot of the time Nordstrom employees get stereotyped as having snobby, "I'm better than you" attitudes, and while sometimes it is true, it is not always the case. I'm sorry that you were treated badly, and I don't blame you for not wanting shop there. I am glad that my Nordie's girls are always very plesant, helpful, and not pushy. After all, my money is just as good the next guy, and luckily for me, they appreciate my being a loyal customer as much as I appreciate their ability to do their jobs well.

That being said, this collection is going to kill me. I am so glad I have a birthday the week before the launch and wedding anniversary the week after.

As it stands right now, my list is this:

- The Cool Eyes Palette - This may change once I see swatches though.
- Naked to the Core and Pop Circle Lipsticks
- Playaround Pink Colour Forms Powder
- Sun Center Colour Forms Powder
- Royal Flush Pigment
- Gilded Green Pigment
- Tea Time Pigment
- Jardin Aires Pigment
- Circa Plum Pigment

i am hoping that they have the collection to sell on the website because the closest nordstrom's to me is in orlando. but they should have it on the website, because that is how i got novel twist last year.

See I usually tend to get decent treatment at Nordie's partially because I work in the mall and so I thus know a few of the people, but also quite a few of the MAC girls worked at my store at one time or another (before I was there). And my product knowledge definitely helps
smiles.gif
I mean this is Seattle, where it is all about comfort, and we aren't a terribly high-end mall by any stretch of the imagination.

That being said, this could pretty much total all my hauling from the other collections COMBINED. Here is what I am wanting:

Possibly one of the eye palettes, will change once I see swatches.
Possibly the Warm and Cool lip palettes, will have to see in person though.
Advanced brushes set
All the pigments except for Steel Blue and Jardin Aires

I think the only full-sized one I own is the one I use for paint pots, the 228...other than that, I use SE MAC brushes and Sephora and Body Shop full-sized brushes. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who loves the SE brushes!

Yeah the MAs at the Nordstrom near me are pretty rude so I just go to the MAC store in the same mall. I wish they were nicer at Nordstrom otherwise I'd get a Nordstroms credit card and spend all of it at MAC, hahaha...but when I got Novel Twist there last year the MA acted as if I shouldn't be there. I wrote Nordstrom a complaint and didn't receive a reply. I also wrote one to MAC and they sent me an email with an apology and then sent me a lip conditioner in the mail. It was nice they acknowledged the bad service I received, but until some of those snotty MAs quit or get fired at Nordstrom I'm going to order over the internet or take my business to the MAC store.

Ok, I think you and I and whoever else has had this type of "service" at Nordstrom's MAC counter should write Nordstrom/MAC about it and have everyone sign their names. Something like "We all love Nordstrom and MAC so naturally we would all love to spend money there, but the type of 'service' we get at the MAC counter is awful. The MAs are rude and act as if we shouldn't be there and shouldn't be interested in MAC. It's difficult because many of us love Nordstrom and MAC and are disappointed that the level of service we receive at other departments in the store is awesome compared to the lackluster service we receive at the MAC counter. What does Nordstrom plan to do about this? Please be aware you are losing cosmetics AND clothing customers who would otherwise open up a Nordstrom's credit card account but do not because of the 'disservice' at the MAC counter."
Anyone for this???

Well I am glad you always get such awesome service at Nordstrom! That's how it is for me in their lingerie department (LOVE the lingerie ladies, no matter if I'm shopping with my mom at the Nordstrom in Texas or by myself at the one in Connecticut), so it pains me that I can't go downstairs and receive the same service at the MAC counter.

Let's avoid turning this thread into a rant against Nordies. Please stay on topic: The Colour Forms Collection

Thank you for cooperating

i'm intrigued at the descriptions for the lipsticks...the core of them will be different than the outer part of them? sounds strange...but exciting.

What are Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights like? Can you compare them to BPs?

Re: Colour Forms Collection Discussion Thread

There is no comparing the BP's and the Soft Lights in my opinion. The Beauty Powder blushes are the actual blush, while Soft Lights is definitely a highlighter. I have the quad that is similar to the Colour Form powder that was in an ULTA set and it is a sort of highlighter, meaning that from my experience you don't get a ton of colour...just supposed to illuminate the face a little bit. I am interested to try the Colour Form powders to see if they have ANY colour payoff, because on my pale-ish olive skin getting the Soft Lights to show up is a hassle and a half.
