I guess I'm too young for prince? I'd heard of him and seen him on Celebrity Deathmatch and stuff since I was little. I don't really recognize much of his music... but often I skip a song at work, I look at the player and it's a Prince song. :/ Sorry lovers. Not my style.

I think Prince would be pretty cool, though. Lots of purple! Oh, and think of the color names! Little red corevette, raspberry beret. Plenty of possibilities there

How can you be too young for Prince!?! I don't really keep up with his new stuff but I love the music he had out in the 80s and early 90s. Whenever I hear his songs on the radio or out I have to dance. I think that he is strange as well as Michael Jackson but I love their music!

My mom thinks I'm *insane* for listening to Michael Jackson! I wonder what she thinks of Prince...

And you can never be too young for Prince. I was barely born in the 80's and I listen to some of his stuff.

Erine, you're kidding, right?

Wentworth isn't even up for debate; he was living all out and proud with his boyfriend until he got Prison Break. Fox told him to drop the boyf if he wanted the job so he went back in the closet. His ex is a mutual friend (that is, I'm once removed)

Sorry, toots.

Youth should have no bearing on what a person enjoys. If that were the case, I wouldn't be enjoying half the stuff I'm enjoying now. It's a matter of taste is all.

And as far as this attitude that not only the gays, but it seems all minority groups have, towards "keeping the crazies out", it's the crazies and people who don't fit the straight and narrow stereotypes that keep things interesting. I get why, if a group of people are different, they can't just accept that instead of trying to homogenize themselves, but it doesn't make things right, and it certainly is much less interesting.

In closing, Aretha and her tittyballs can be as Iconic as they want to be, I just don't think she's the right icon aesthetically for a cosmetics company. In the end though, it's about the products, so here's to some respect - har, har - to decent quality!

I have to say I agree with all of this. I am rather excited about this collection, but I do agree that someone else could have been better aesthetically.

Also, if age dictated what one may enjoy, there's no way in hell that Arsenic and Old Lace should be one of my favourite movies. Better get my Hitchcock dvds and Rat Pack cds out of here, too, as well as countless other things. I'd be in so much trouble!

As for the weirdos, without them I wouldn't enjoy life or laugh nearly as much - and I like doing those two things, thanks.

I feel the same - 2 of my favourite films of all time (Bringing Up Baby, The Apartment) were made well before I was born. Especially the former, it was made in the late 1930's (golden age of comedy, in my opinion).

Inspired creativity lives on forever, I like to think.

I still had hope that they might do an Elton John collection.
He's pretty iconic as a musician, and think of what the colour or product names could be!
"Captain Fantastic" and "Brown Dirt Cowboy" eyeshadow quads,
"Val-Hala" and "Peachtree Road" lipstick,
"Elderberry Wine" and "Teenage Idol" lipglass,
"Sweet Painted Lady", "Tiny Dancer" and "Island Girl" blushes (or BPB's or MSF's)
That would just be awesome.

You can hate Prince, think the guy is butt-ugly, hate his music, hate his beliefs, hate everything about him, but the fact remains that he pretty much defined a decade of music and to this day is still an amazing musician. He has more talent in whatever small package is being stored in that tiny black bikini than most musicians have in their entire bodies. He is a musical pioneer, in my opinion, and probably the first person to wear dazzleglass lipgloss before dazzleglass lipgloss was even a MAC item. The man rocks. 'Nuff said.

What I meant regarding Prince is I was never really formally introduced to him or his music. I work at MAC part-time and we play a great deal of him, and I dislike what I hear. So therefore, I must say that I don't much care for him (musically). ^__^

I agree about the philosphy of "keep the __ away", especially the gays. I don't really much think of celebrities and their sexual preferences and orientations. I just think the cuties are cuties and hotties are hotties and whatnot. Maybe I'm just not smart enough or I don't pay attention enough to really focus and tell myself or others "keep the (stereotypical group of persons) out". I'm more of the "please don't let *specific individual* come and visit me at work today".

Does that make sense or sound relevant? I dunno how to express my thoughts. o__o I dunno nvrmnd 4ever.

ANYWAYYYY I decied that this will probably be a lovely collection. The only thing I really wonder about is the packaging... what is Aretha's favorite pattern??

AND OMFG a James Bond collection??

Honey Rider Lipstick
Onatopp Lipstick
Golden Girl Lipstick
Moneypenny Lipglass
Octopussy Lipglass
Mayday Eyeshadow
World Is Not Enough Beauty Powder

I would die. Bond Girls are my favvooorrrritteesss.
