Aurora pigment is described by MAC as pinked taupe and this description is rather accurate. If you a lover of taupe shades, this is an absolute must for three reasons: (1) the texture is absolutely wonderful and easy to work with; (2) the pink sheen is a great twist to your regular taupe shades; and (3) the finish is rather sophisticated.
Let me begin with the
texture, which is buttery, soft, and very, very easy to work with, even when you are not used to applying pigments at all. While some pigments can be on the drier side, making it more challenging to work with them (I use the word challenging rather than difficult as IMO, it depends on your application skill level and what tools you use when applying pigments), Aurora makes it very easy to apply it evenly. It is very forgiving when applied as the texture allows any easy blending due to the buttery texture. It is also not powdery but tends to clump together - in a good way - which makes it relatively foolproof to apply as you are less likely to spill any pigment. As always, I recommend that you do not go directly with your brush into the jar to avoid contamination. Use a metal spatula to take out some pigment, place it on a palette or another clean surface, from where you can pick it up with your brush.
The
pink sheen is what sold me this product. If you have NW10-20 skin, this is a must have as it complement your complexion in the most natural way. The pink sheen is very subtle, but it adds such a great twist to your regular taupe shade that Aurora definitely stands out.
Aurora features a
frost finish, without being overly frosty. Personally, I am not too keen of products that are overly frosty as they can easily look tacky or aging. However, Aurora does neither look tacky nor is it aging, but the finish is a rather sophisticated one, where the frost is not obnoxiously loud. It is the perfect everyday finish, which is easily applied and very versatile, as it can be worn on its own or in combination with other products.
I usually don't BU pigments, but Aurora has made it on the BU list. Woohoo. Triple
