Went to my usual MAC store in Soho today, the mattenes ARE making a come back... But no grey mattene, the formula just won't work. But I was told to come back at the end of April for some updates

Awesome news! I skipped all the mattenes so far because I couldn't wear mattes before. But now I'm totally ready for some mattene beauties! :cheer:

All we need is a colour story, but grey has been ruled out. I'm gonna book myself in for an express at the end of April, one of the MUAs there gave me a tip on how to use Genuine Orange CP as a colour corrector. And all this time, I've been using it with Oxblood and doubled it up as an eyeliner. By then, they should've had their training seminar and more info

Thats fine with me! I have no interest whatsoever in a grey lipstick. But I'm so excited for the mattenes! Can't wait for the color story to come out.

So sad... I really was hoping for something like Grey Friday :( I'll have to make do with just the Mattenes!

I would've suggested using Pure White pigment and a lip safe black pigment or black and white lipmix and we have a grey and then use a finishing powder to mattify. I was looking forward for a grey mattene as well. We can only dream

Oh la la! I haven't head of Mattenes before. I googled them and they look very interesting, I can't wait to see the color story and swatches!

I can't get too excited about Mattenes until I know what the formula is going to be like. Remember in recent years, a lot of the Mattenes were glossy and had too much slip. Far too creamy. Ask people who had the original Eden Rouge and the last one that was repromoted. It is also one of the main reasons why I had returned my Camden Chic. I was literally able to wipe it off my mouth with NO residue/stain left behind whatsoever. Mattenes haven't been right for me since I last bought Unknown Pleasure. That is the same collection Potent Fig is from. Came out in 2011.

I like Potent Fig so much, that I own 2 (thank you, reasonable seller on eBay). I love the colour, but it has a shine to it and it just ruins it. I've also noticed with a few matte lipsticks that MAC have released, they haven't been as matte as I want them to be... I think I need to blot and invest in finishing powder

Had the same issue with these!! Never set, smeared and transferred everywhere!! :sigh:
