Quote: Well that sucks :( At least people who missed out the first time will be able to have a second chance at grabbing them! I also like the look of some of the single e/s! Do we think this will count as special packaging with white MAC lettering? EDIT: Looking closely, the e/s seem to have the swirly EDES bit at the bottom!
It is great for the people who missed out! And the e/s are mini EDES! I don't know if this will count as special packaging..
Yes, from the comment I posted in the other thread I think it's special packaging. I think it's a shiny black.
You're right! It's glossy, I completely forgot!

I didn't get the skinfinish when it was released but am thinking about WOG now.

So, tell me -- at 45, with largish pores on my cheeks, is it something I should be wearing? Honest opinions greatly appreciated.

While I don't know anything about this particular product, at my age, which is 50, I say you wear whatever you f'ing want to.

I am 33 and have lines and not so small pores. I use Too Faced Primed and Poreless and it makes my pores invisible! I do wear the Superb and WoG. I wore Superb today. I use a light hand and blend well. To me it is a gorgeous glow and one of my fav highlighters.

i actually dont like it. well i dont like the fact that we are gonna have to pay more just for the shininess of the packaging. it makes the haul more expensive than it already is .

I may be the lone voice of dissension here...but I'd say it's not the best choice. I am the same age and have largish pores on my cheeks and the beginning of lines around my eyes. Because my skin has been so oily all my life, I have less lines than many our age do, but my pores did not escape undamaged. My skin is in better condition than it's been in years because I've been taking such good care of it for awhile now. All good, I'm not ashamed of aging, I don't think beauty exists only in our 20s, etc. I also don't believe that you have to follow makeup or fashion rules religiously; some are good guidelines, but if you feel good in something and can rock it, I say go for it.

I tried WoG and it really wasn't flattering. The sheen is too metallic and it definitely enhanced all of my lines and pores. I looked much worse, not better. Personally, I think NARS Albatross is a better choice. I have Sweet Heat e/s and I could use that as a highlighter as well if I wanted to, but I never do. Maybe I should give that one another try with a fan brush now that I have one. It's just that there are better choices for my skin at this point that are more flattering.

I did buy both Light Year and Star Wonder so I can live with some sheen (although I apply them with a 184 so it's a very light application). I have some other glowy blushes (Peachykeen, Plum Foolery, Warm Soul and Deep Throat are faves) so I'm not a matte only person.

Having said that, I just don't find that gold metallic glitter/glimmer/sheen is flattering on me anymore. I wore it a ton 20 years ago but now it I find that it really shines a spotlight on my lines and pores. So I went for Dolce Vita instead of Outlaw and really don't reach for Orgasm and Luster much although I like the underlying colour of both. I don't think that it's a 'rule' that anyone over 45 or so can't wear these colours, I've just found that what was flattering on me at 20 isn't what's flattering on me at 45 so I've adapted my makeup application over the years.

I'll leave these skinfinish to the younger/finer pored among you. I will check out the EDES minis; I really like SH. If I don't buy any it'll be because I have near dupes in my collection, not because I don't like them.

The one you want is called Clearly MAC/Cube and it's $25 on the pro site.
Ah Ok. I know there are three of those Clearly bags at Pro, but I thought they were bigger and these were new, smaller ones. I had no idea the cube one was that small!

Well I'm also 45 and I think that the ED Skin Finishes are the best Mac can offer. I have a very dry skin but no large pores where I put blushes, no crow's feet etc. The secret is to really buff the product into your skin (and possibly place the product very hight on your cheek bone). If you just swipe the powder onto your skin, it is metallic, but once you buff it well it changes and you get this beautiful glow. Personally I just hate a flat matte face - the texture of the product is one thing you can play with (and look fresh and younger

What brush do you use for buffing? I use the 179.
