You're not an old mom at all! I'm 22 and I want to wait to have kids until I'm at least 27 - I need to graduate medical school, and finish my junior doctor training etc etc! I'd rather be settled and working first :)
However, there isn't a man in my life at all so we'll have to wait and see haha!

I don't think 27 is old... but when I was 14... 15... I was all like, "MOM.. I can't believe how old you are! Why did you wait to have kids until you were old?!?!"
hahaha.. Oh man. You know, I love love love looking back at pictures from when I was a baby and seeing how my parents looked. It's so fun! My dad had hair!
I don't think my father has ever had hair. xD

Yeah, I always asked that question too, except I was in elementary school at the time. Now, as a teenager, I try to avoid incurring any woman's wrath by commenting on their age or anything to do with their age. /is terrified of women scorned

Yeah now that I'm older I seriously couldn't care how old people are. I am the second youngest in our friend group and get teased ("I was in college when that song was popular! Not jr high!") heh but generally, after 18/ 21, no one really cares. Everything is legal (in terms of tobacco/ alcohol) and age is just... age. I hope I am making sense! I am very scatter-brained today.

I agree that the Mac demographic is skewing younger, however, it might come as a shock to you that not every old lady over 30 is finding out about the makeup news via messages delivered by a passenger pigeon and some are even fairly active on social media. I don't think it's so much that we elderly types find Mac difficult to keep up with in our golden years so much as not being as interested in following trends. Now GET OFF MY LAWN.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Wow, I'm sorry that your comments were seen as offensive by a few people. I sure knew that you were kidding. (The "GET OFF MY LAWN" bit was a huge indicator.) After two years of being here and seeing you post, I know you'd never intentionally start a flame war. Your insight has always been appreciated by me.

Ok, so when I was 18 I REFUSED to date any guy that was balding, graying, had a beard, or was over 28.
Know who I am married to? The sexist guy every who has a beard (with gray), he's 34, and thinning! If someone told my younger self that I would marry a guy like that, I would've died. How vain! I am 29 now and just the thought of people being in their 30's was just horrible. I get it... I feel pretty much the same as 18, but smarter (with a few wrinkles and freckles from tanning). Oh, I also said I would never be an OLD mom and would have all my kids before my mom did (she had me at 27). Here I am... 29, first baby :) So young and naive when I was making "life plans" like that.
HA! I'm the exact opposite. I'm almost 23, and for the last couple years I've been very specific in what I want in a guy: 30 and up. (With a few exceptions.) I ADORE older men. There's just something about that experience they have that you can't put a price on. (Though I wonder how I'll feel when I actually hit 30. XD)

yes, cats don't talk back or steal your makeup!!
You know, I've been contemplating getting a cat for aeons but I really don't know if I'm up to the challenge. I love cats but the idea of being responsible for the well-being of a fellow creature scares me a bit. And I know for a fact I can't deal with the counter surfing. Even if I grin and bear it my dermatitis ridden hands can't handle more cleaning!

No, I shouldn't get a cat.

I really shouldn't get a cat.

No way I should get a cat!

Sigh. I still want a cat!

As a mom of many cats now and over the years. I can tell you there is no greater enjoyment than having them. They give you unconditional love. Prrr while sleeping next to you. Listen when you talk to yourself about makeup, play with you and always make you feel special.

I cannot imagine my life without my cats or without them ever.

You're not helping you know. I need to hear things like "the cat will hate you with every fibre of its being and choke you to death by sitting on your face when you're asleep".

I know I will get a cat at some point but now's not the time. For the cat's sake. I first need to sort myself out. I don't think I can give it the attention and care it deserves at this point in my life.

Good thinking about the older man --- I married my wonderful husband when I was 30 and he was 40 -- and I have felt like a princess for the last sixteen few years.

Oh I don't agree with that, some of my cats are pretty mouthy...especially if you tell them they can't have your dinner. And if my makeup is left out for just a minute when I leave the room, they will steal it.

My cat does that to me. She's kind of bossy and will walk up to and pull your hand towaards her when she's wants petted. I have her since I was in college. I have a special bond with her.
