MAC for Marilyn

Ok, I tried the eye shadows this morning and I'm finding them chalky. The problem is, the colors are perfect, the Showgirl blue and the Preferred Blonde are perfect. The problem is the formula, it's chalky! So sad that the Glamour Daze has the EDS (love those) in the mini size for a maxi price and now these Marilyn shadows are less than good. And they are a larger size? ACK! However, the Beauty Powder is most excellent!!! YAY!!!!!

Okie doke, I'm throwing in the CP towel! I've ordered so much stuff for you lovely ladies in the past 2 days that I just won't be able to keep track of any more - I have over half a dozen parcels expected next week, and I'm just too busy with uni to be able to cope with any more stuff than that! ugh they broke my marilyn little heart...i could of got the bp but was like ok mine is already ordered i don't need 3 so i didn't then they cancelled my item and thank god for a cp in the uk i got my bp back but paid more than macys

Yep - me too! That's hysterical!!! You little celebrity, you!My local store still had all the polishes in stock today, I was very surprised! I went in to B2M some empties and I snagged Vintage Vamp, they still had two leftover. They even had two of the eyeshadows but I didn't see which ones were still in stock. Everything else was wiped out. I didn't swatch Flaming Red but it looks gorgeous! I don't usually buy nail polish because it's not an everyday thing for me, but there was just something about RRR and VV that suckered me in!
The store was busy today but it seemed like people were just regularly in there. There was a model getting her makeup done a la Marilyn, but I don't think they were really doing much of a Marilyn event with the products for appointments. Nothing that seemed out of the ordinary for a Saturday, anyway.
The sweetest MA was helping me with my purchases and he recognized me from the boards hereI was spotted in the wild and without a lick of makeup on, too lol I wasn't expecting that in the slightest! He's in the Specktra shadows, but he needs a shoutout because I think he's an awesome MA and has great customer service! I've not had a single bad experience at this MAC store. Every person that's assisted me when I've visited the store has been so sweet and attentive, even with oodles of people rushing in and out the door! Today was no exception
with all the stories of the bad artists, I felt I should share an experience with a great artist! Even if I did blush a little when he asked if I was duckrodeo from Specktra, heeheee!
In other news: I was talking to the manager at my local MAC counter about the collection and how quickly it sold out. She's been working for the company for over a decade and never saw anything like it! She had an answer regarding the low stock that I thought I'd share. Whether it was official info or just her theory, I don't really know, but she was saying that MAC had a lot of flops last year with their collections (anyone else thinking Big Bounce shadows?) and the company lost a ton of money because those didn't sell. So they purposely started creating less stock so that they wouldn't have that happen again. Now, I can understand that to a degree, but it seems like they cut it down pretty severely, especially for a collection like this. So it seems that whether they overstock or understock, they end up losing money... Epic fail.
And finally, to PeachTwist and gracie90, even though I didn't do any CPs, I just want to give a round of applause for how amazing you ladies are!!!
