MAC for Marilyn

Woohoo. Is everybody done with MM yet?

All the CP'ing ended up making me look at items I didn't want to begin with. So now I've ordered PZ, CIS and DA on top of my original list and have 3 of the BP's! I've skipped on Legendary but because it's not selling well I'll probably look at picking it up later in the month when my money isn't so tight. I'm happy with what I have for now though, TPC, PZ, CIS, DA, LG, 3xFM. I never BU anything so it's a first. I figure if I decide I don't want them later someone on here would be willing to take them off my hands.

Personally I think scarlet Ibis and lady danger looks really close on hand, but on the lips, scarlet ibis is more red n lady danger has more orange in it here's my swatch... they loook too similar on the hand but not so on the lips. Take away the name on the swatch and I wun be able to identify which is which lol! But in the tube scarlet ibis is definitely more red than lady danger

Oh, thanks for the info. I had no idea and should give Pinkdollface the credit for cp'ing my WMS awhile back.

Edit: I tried but it need the url to a classified. It was through a cp so don't know how to leave feedback for that.

In the past you didn't need an url to give feedback. I wonder why that changed. I have a sale in the clearance bin and I guess you can use that to give feedback to me. I've used that url for feedback for a cp once before and it worked. I'll give you feedback with that url as well

Finally my counter experience, which was positive! I went to my counter yesterday morning and there were so many people, but de bijenkorf was also having a sales weekend so I expected people to be there for that and then some for the Marilyn collection. I was able to walk to the front of the door to Spring (also from this forum, but she doesn't have time to post a lot) and nobody would say anything about it, so that was nice. When the doors opened we walked very fast to the left and took a shortcut to the counter and suprise suprise nobody followed us and everybody turned out to be there for the sales, so we were worrying for no reason

We still told the MUA's immediately what we wanted and they took it from the drawers and then we were able to take our time swatching everything. When we were sure of what we wanted we paid and then we talked about makeup and life for at least half an hour before leaving. It was a very nice morning.

I figure if I don't like CIS or DA then I can probably sell them on here as I'm sure someone will want them. What do you think of Legendary? I'm considering it but some have said it's a bit shimmery and with large pores I'm a bit uncertain. Does it look like anything else you have?

Thanks! I'm still so suprised that we were the only two there for the collection. I haven't tried Legendary yet, but the colour is in between Immortal Flower and Lauch Away and I think the amount of sheen compares to Supercontinental, Modern Mandarin and Lovecloud.

I have an update. My story now has a happier ending. After my pre-order was cancelled and reading all of the posts here about things being sold out, I was convinced that I was not meant to have my items from MM and I quit looking. I lived vicariously through the posts of the lucky members here who got their things.

Friday night at 7:30 I got a call from my counter. They had my items now, did I still want them? "Are you kidding me? Of course, I do." I ran in there bright and early Saturday morning and I am proud to say that I now have FM BP and Preferred Blonde e/s. I had wanted a back up of the powder (and would still love one if someone can still do a CP) but if I don't get one that is okay too.

I don't know how these products magically appeared at my sold out counter but I am so glad that they did.

I only have one MAC store in the entire state of Oregon, and the two Nordstrom counters closest to me told me "absolutely not" for pre-orders. I usually work until the early afternoon, but even then, I avoided the counters and the MAC store like the plague yesterday! I work within driving distance of the one MAC store, butttt parking is iffy, so there really wouldn't be an ample opportunity to "pop on by" on my lunch, and when I'm done with work, I'm ready to go hooome. Anyway, aside from my own personal grievances and time restrictions, I wasn't about to set foot in an area launching the MM collection yesterday! I'm so sorry this is such a big mess for a lot of people! I think it's ridiculous out little stock the stores seemed to have gotten. My own stores in the area said they were really limited too, hence the no pre-order policy. And usually, I hit them up for pre-orders if I truly feel antsy about getting certain products.  I ordered all my stuff online, pending multiple shipments. I placed my original order at MAC.com because sheer luck would have me be up getting ready for work and randomly checking the MAC site and having the MM show up in the sitemap. Then I got some BP from Macy's and a BU of DA and CIS. I got Showgirl and Silver Screen eyeshadows on Nordstrom.com - I love my highlighter shades.  Today I splurged on Belk and got Pure Zen and Scarlet Ibis - it's making me super curious to see if there's a difference between MM Scarlet Ibis and IA Scarlet Ibis. And Pure Zen was just pure dumb skipper's remorse lol. I knowwww I can pick it up any ol' time, but I figured if I was gonna go broke, I was gonna go home (and have some perty lipsticks while I was at it). I tried on CIS and DA and I fell in LOVE with CIS. It's no Ruffian Red or Red Racer but a girl can never have too many kick ass reds! I like Red Racer for its cherry yet still a little yellowy look and Ruffian Red is just bright as hell which I adore. CIS is like a fall version of both of them having a baby.  CIS on the left, DA on the right - both of them paired with Cherry l/l. DA doesn't look nearly as dark on me as I expected - it's definitely not like Rocker on me at all. Excuse the somewhat sloppy application of DA - I literally tried that on after CIS.  I do like both of them, and I think DA will get more use out of it knowing it's not a dark vampy shade, and is more in my comfort zone.

MAC should really survive the icon collections. Those would fly off the shelves, especially if they had luxurious packaging as the Catherine Deneuve & Co collections did in the past.

we are very similar lol. i ended up getting LG and TPC even though they werent on my original want list. And then also DA, SI, and CIS. and the BPx3 and i've never backed up anything ;P

Lol! I knew I wanted LG, TPC & BP first. But then the more I saw things I wanted DA, CIS and PZ too. I skipped SI because it just looks too orange for my liking and I really can't picture myself in it so I didn't bother. As nice as it would've been to have all 5 in the Marilyn packaging I don't see the point in buying something to never use it just to hoard it.
