I'm going to hold off for these new velvet lipsticks. Thank you again elegant!!! I had a Chanel l/s years ago that a friend gave me because her mom, at the time, worked for Chanel and I loved it. I just couldn't afford it back then. Now, I will treat myself to one (or maybe two) of these lippies.

Oops... There are so many gorgeous red chanel lipsticks. I also have Gabrielle & a few others that I can't even remember off the top of my head right now. Their red extrait glossed have red colors to die for as well.
Do you like dark red or red red lipstick colors on you?

I know its a $$$ splurge but I really believe that everyone should treat themselves to 1 in their lifetime. There are 16 new Rouge Allure Velvets coming out very soon - a couple weeks I think. So, maybe you guys should check out those colors. The Velvet lipsticks are AMAZING!

If you want a Pink Chanel lipstick, I highly recommend Joyeuse. Its my favorite #1 pink color lipstick ever. Its just a straight up medium pink pink for all skin tones. Nordstrom still has it. It was originally an Asia exclusive but then Nordies got that collection.

Any purple/lavender/lilac colors with Chanel? That you can recommend?

Hmm...I don't have any but I will check that color range out. I'm not sure that they have one just off the top of my head. They have dusty plums - the new one for fall. Their lilac/plums are more dusty shades. I do think there is one in the Coco Shine collection, but they are more like balms & don't last very long on the lips.

I guess its just the RA not Velvets, but go look at the Chanel lipstick thread, there is a new post with a link & it looks like one of the new ones may be just the color you are looking for.

I love that lipstick on the model for the new Fall collection, but I can't figure out what color it is and what type of lipstick it is. It's a beautiful plum color. Help? Sorry. I never go into the Chanel website so I don't know too much about the different lipsticks/colors.

The swatch on the Nordstrom site looks pink. This is a red lipstick, right?

So after I didn't find the lipstick on Chanel's website yesterday, I did more searching and found it on Nordstroms. Like you mac_aiken, I wasn't sure if that was the right lipstick because of the swatch. I did a live chat with a very helpful representative to confirm I was ordering the correct lipstick. The swatch is off, but it is the correct lipstick.

I also learned during my chat session that the lipstick is discontinued. AND that Nordstrom only has 6 available in the nation. I immediately ordered one! Knowing it's discontinued, I'm considering a blind BU. I'm not sure I can bear the thought of not having a BU if it turns out to be my HG red. This is my first Chanel purchase. I never thought I would venture into $30+ lipsticks so soon, if at all. Let alone backing up one without even seeing how it looks on me. I think this officially make me

Everyone NEEDS to own at least 1 Chanel lipstick! Nothing more glamorous than pulling out a Chanel lipstick tube to put your lipstick on. Chanel knows red ( & pink)

ARGH! You're sooooo not helping me, elegant-one. I think you're going to cause me to get more Chanel lipsticks. Are any of these shades similar to Ruffian Red? I have Ruffian Red (in my avatar pic), Red Racer and Runaway Red with RuffR being my favorite out of the three.
