Thanks
I got my goodies yesterday and I really wasn't expecting to get much from this collection, but I ended up coming home with more than half of it! I do have to say, though, that I ended up going home and playing with my goodies, and there are a few that I didn't like AT ALL!
I think this will be the first collection that I'm returning a ton of stuff from. The most I've ever returned from a collection was one, if anything....2 tops!
Here's what I got:
All 4 lippies (I've never tried these formulas before so I didn't know what I was expecting)
Blooming Lovely- this shows up on me extremely purple, but like a dead corpse like purple
. I'm going to try it with In Synch and a pink lipglass and maybe that will bring the pink out a bit. If not, this is going back! I'm not really a fan of having to make the extra effort to make a lippie work, but we'll see.
Ever Hip- swatched on my hand this color looked like a nice sheer coral color. I figured I'd love this since I really love Fresh Salmon (PERFECT everyday coral color BTW). But Ever Hip looks orange on me
. This one's a no no!
Petals & Peacocks- I wasn't going to get this but my MA talked me into it. This was just way over the top on me! I saw some FOTDs with this that looked gorgeous! It looked like a nice baby pink on some! But on me it is just too bright, and has more of a violet tone to it. Both are out of my element, but if I had to choose between this or Show Orchid, I'd go with Show Orchid. These two aren't similar on me at all by the way.
Peachstock- From the beginning of this collection, this was the one lippie I thought for sure I wasn't going to get. But for some reason I bought it b/c of all the hype (shocker there huh lol
) and OMG I LOVE THIS LIPPIE!!!!! And Swirlgirl- YES, I DO like it as much as you do!!!!!!
Wow, this lippie is incredible to create a nude lip! I can't explain what's so great about this lippie, but you just have to try it lol. This gives you the perfect nude lips without having to apply lip erase- AND this doesn't give you the nude look that makes your lips seem like you have concealer on them. I don't have anything like this in my collection! This is definitely a keeper!
Dame's Desire- a nice purple color! It reminds me of a more purple version of stars n rockets! Can't wait to use this and play with different looks!
Bough Grey- doesn't come across as being super pigmented when swatched, but if you pack it onto your brush, you get a ton of pigmentation. I'm still going to play around with this one. I love greys, but this one isn't wowing me just yet. But it does seem, however, like it would be great to use in smokey eye looks!
Prim & Proper-
Need I say more???
Gives your cheeks a nice natural flush of color. This is COMPLETELY different from Eversun & Fun n Games. Fun n Games gives you that super light/just barely there tone to your cheeks. I usually wear FnG when I have no makeup on just to give me a natural glow since it's super light. Eversun gives you that flush of color that makes you look like you just got out of the sun. Prim & Proper is pure love!!!!!
It met all my expectations!!!! This blush is AMAZING with.......Shell Pearl!!!!!
Shell Pearl- I was so AGAINST getting this b/c I have so many MSFs that are hardly even touched, and why would I need another highlight shade??? But of course, you guys were going crazy about it and it's sold out everywhere so basically that's why I got it
When I tried this on alone, it actually has enough of a light peachy tint for me to wear alone as a natural looking, glowy blush. But with Prim & Proper it's gorgeous and seriously drool worthy
. I actually like Prim & Proper better with Shell Pearl! It really changes the tone a bit. Is it bad of me for wanting to keep Shell Pearl only to use it with Prim & Proper??? lol
Blue India- This color didn't wow me but I bought it anyway thinking I'd like it. I don't usually wear darker shades, with the exception of black, so this was something different for me. Hubby liked it though! But guess what? I wore it yesterday, and now looking at my nails as I'm typing this, and.....it's already started to chip
This is my first MAC polish and I am not happy about the chipping part!!!! I'm returning this!!!
It's 12am but I feel like playing with my makeup and not going to sleep just yet lol. I think I'm going to see what looks I can come up with from this collection. Maybe I could make the lippies work?........
