I am now the proud owner of:

Trio #1 (Yes, I caved)
Alpha Girl b/p
Lollipop Lovin l/s
Sock Hop l/g
Scarlet Kiss l/g

I am also rethinking Melrose Mood because the MA was wearing it today and it looked awesome on her! I want to see a few more FOTDs with it and I might go back for it! Swatches coming soon if I can get my camera to work!

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

So I went yesterday and picked up

Hollywood Nights
Melrose Mood
Sock Hop
Starlet Kiss

I was extremely disappointed with Lollipop Loving :-( hardly any color pay off, just iridescent green/gold shimmers. I thought that it would be a nice coral to add to my collection but I noticed later that it is a glaze finish which is obviously the reason for the poor color pay off on my NW45 tone. I'll just stick to missy.

I really wanted to love Smooth Harmony but again you couldn't even notice it on my complexion so I didn't bother with that. I didn't try on Alpha girl because I'm not a pink blush/bp lover BUT I think that I will give it a try and probably purchase it anyway.

I didn't buy either pallet because they were similar to colors I have from other cosmetic lines and I'm not a huge fan of mac e/s anymore; but dang they are just too cute! Hmmm pondering....

I love all the lip products love love them!!!! Hollywood Nights is definitely the brightest pink I own also. I wore it last night with malibu barble l/g and woooow. Melrose Mood and Scarlet Kiss are just loooove. I have to find a way to work them with my skin tone though but regardless I just love them. Bonus beat and Flesh pot looked similar to C-thru and Siss when I tried them on so I skipped those. I will pick up Style Minx when I go back.

I loved all of the liners but I don't really need anymore liners otherwise I would be all over them. They glide on to the skin and the colors are so pretty.

I forgot to pick up the lashes :-( so I have to go back for those too lol.

The packaging is gorgeous and good quality.. you don't have to worry about the designs or logos fading.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

In terms of what I purchased:

1. Style Minx: I really like this lipglass and its very pigmented on me. I like it better than the Totally It from Fafi.

2. Hollywood Nights: LOVE this. The same as Style Minx. What I like about it is, when I add the Style Minx to it, the color doesnt move around. Thats what happens when I put Totally It lipglass over Fun N Sexy.

3. I only tried the Trio 2 and so far I like it. It made me wish I didnt buy the Fafi Quad with the Pink in it because it looks basically the same.

4. The smooth harmony powder blends right into my skin so I dont know about this one.

5. Even though I purchase the Starlet Kiss and the Melrose Mood, I'm wondering if I made a mistake because my skintone is very golden and yellow. So my fear is it might be too cool toned. What do you think? (I'm a NC 45)

6. I have yet to find out what eye makeup would go with the Sock Hop and the Lollipop Loving.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

I went ahead and cancelled my order online since it was only Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop. I called my Macy's counter and they said they did get Heatherette in and its been dead this morning, so I'm hoping people won't just jump and go get everything later today LOL. Though, it could happen.

I'll have more money tomorrow which is why I want to wait. At $3.69 a gallon I don't want to make two trips down there. I probably should have asked if she could hold at the very least Lollipop and Sock Hop for me... Though, if all else fails I'm sure I'll still be able to get it online through MAC or Macy's, right? Its all I really want but since my dad just paid my cellphone bill I have extra money so I might as well see in person if I really want anything else...

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

eveyone keeps saying that the bps blend into their skin and they only see a glow. thats what they are supposed to do. especially these two. alpha girl is more suited to lighter skintones, and smooth harmony is more for darker ones. but lighter skin tones can use smooth harmony as a bronzer. beauty powders aren't designed to give color, just a soft glow on the high planes of the face. if you want color, use a blush, or better yet, one of the new beauty powder blushes!

I am totally aware of that. I wanted Smooth Harmony to use as an all over powder for give me a soft glow or as a highlighter. I didn't want any shimmer, glitter, nada just something to add softness to my complexion but it didn't deliver imo. I think that it would definitely look pretty on someone slightly darker or lighter but I did absolutely nothing for me. No glow, nothing.

I kinda knew someone was going to say this. I know its supposed to blend, but there isnt any glow either. Nothing. Its as if I put a regular powder foundation on. I should have re-worded my statment in my previous post. Maybe I did something wrong.

of all the bps ever made, these have the least amount of shimmer by far, so i actually think it makes them more wearable, since you can wear them all over without looking like a greasy disco ball!

and ladyvirtuous, it wasn't in response to you hun. alot of people have been saying it. alot of people think that they are supposed to have alot of color or alot of shimmer, when really they aren't. you did nothing wrong.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

I told myself I wouldn't get too excited about Heatherette until I could see it in person (though, that didn't stop me from looking at swatches and whatnot). I headed in to my local MAC store this morning and it was empty aside from the MAs. I'm in there a lot, so most of them know at least my face, if not my name. One of them decided I should try on EVERYTHING simply because I could! So... for the most part... I did.

I actually put on all 8 liners at once... the four dark ones on top and the soft sparkles on the bottom. Tis pretty fun.

I didn't feel the need for the alpha girl BP as it would only give me a shimmer, and I have other products that do that. The eyeshadows weren't unique enough from other things I own for me to spend the money, much as they're pretty and the packaging is adorable.

I ended up leaving with the dual edge pencils in black funk/blue pop, nighthawk/front row and fab orchid/dash lily; lipstick in hollywood nights and lollipop loving (though I wish LL had more colour payoff, I still like it. As for Melrose mood? Way too milky on me; didn't agree with my red hair. Fleshpot just looked ridiculous); the jardin aires pigment and a pair of she's bad lashes. I also picked up the perky paintpot, a new 217 brush, fluidline in shade, beauty powder blush in secret blush and four empty sample jars (I have some broken lipsticks to melt down).

Oh, how I wish I had a pro card. It would have made today slightly less harmful to my credit card.

I thought you meant me because I did mention it blending completely into the skin. Sowwy!!! Thats what I get for being so senstive.

Maybe you can help me in terms of how to use the beauty powder. This is my first one.

I was at Square One this a.m it was pretty busy (both stores) but not at the actual Heatherette display.

I ended up with both trios and sock hop l/g which is the perfect peachy nude on my pigmented lips LOVE...I also picked up Eversun bp which is amazing.

Lollipop Lovin' barely showed up on my lips which is pretty much what i expected from a glaze lippie. The beauty powders are not something I felt like I need-I have a pressed powder to give me an all over glow already and the pink one was invisible on my skin tone.

I'm happy with my haul..small but I know I will love the things I got

I'm an NC42 brown chick for reference.

Sorry to jump in, but I looove this color. When it came out the first time, I just used it to set foundation for customers with your skintone. I just liked the finish better than using a regular powder. I would then go back and add color with a blush. I actually think it's been the best BP for WOC, but that's just me.

Edited to say at the time we didn't have MSF Naturals, and this gave the effect I wanted to see...a little glowy without looking too disco ball-ish. lol
