No problems!

*gasp* Where did you go? I might actually depot my blush beauty powders then! They were so strict with Fafi I didn't even bother trying at Queen pro!

TBH I wasn't much into this collection because of the packaging but in person it's cute. Just not quite my style..
shrugs.gif
But Mood Ring totally is!!! It's as gorgeous as I thought it'd be, maybe more so. Swatched against Aquadisiac (sorry, no pics yet), I'm convinced it'd be hard to dupe, even with a bit of green mixed in. I didn't pick it up b/c a friend she'd do so for me (how kind!) along with Black Funk/Pop Blue duo liner. The liners *are* super creamy, but I didn't test the smudge factor on them. The prettiest combo imo is actually Fab Orchid/Dash Lily; when Dash Lily goes over Fab Orchid it makes for a powerful punch of purple (say that 10x fast!). Night Hawk seemed boring to me, but that's mainly b/c it'll pretty much fade against my skintone (Chinese NC30) like Goldernair. If I was 2 shades lighter or darker I'd go for it. Phone Me/Text me is alright, but I can use Lithograph f/l and Spun Silver g/l if I *really* want the look.

The MA helping me used Trio #2 and it looked gorgeous. She used Macroviolet as a base on the lid, packed on Cassette, used VIP in the crease and Baby Petals as highlight and on the middle of the lid over Cassette. It looked simple but hot! I hope to try it with Nice Vice, Fertile, Living Pink and Sunday Best.

I tried on Lollipop Lovin' and then added Sock Hop. Strangely enough LL shows up on me! Maybe b/c I layered it quite a bit, but I don't mind - since it's a glaze it won't look cakey, just more pigmented. It pales out my lips in a pretty light corally way, so in a sense my own pigmented lips gave the l/s more oomph, lol. I passed on Sock Hop b/c I don't usually like cream formulas - they make me look like I just got botoxed! I'll see how I like Ciao Manhattan or Glamoursun over LL, even tho they aren't true corals. And if I can B2M... I'll take a leap of fun and get Hollywood Nights!

Last but not least, the icing on top of this fun visit to Heatherette: I got a Fafi shopping bag!
yahoo.gif
She pulled out a package of them when ringing up my purchase and I almost froze with disbelief. Apparently they were supposed to have an event but never did, so they've got stuff left over and can give it away as they please. They'll be having a makeover event for Heatherette next weekend, if anyone wants to know.

Yeah, I knew that. But I wasn't going to stand there and argue with her about it. I didn't need a free heatherette lipstick THAT bad. She made it sound like it was there own counter policy or something. The only reason she let me use it for Fafi, is because they are pulling it from the floor next week.

I really regret getting Lollipop Loving. I have very pigmented lips and in order to get it to show up on me I need to use MAC Pro lip erase. It barely shows up. I am thinking about selling it now...

I know what you mean about Lollipop Loving not really showing up... My lips are super pigmented as well. I like it though because in certain lighting you see the unique green undertones/shimmer.

Just to let you ladies know though, sock hop is AMAZING. It looks fabulous!!

I am in love with this collection it is amazing I got all off the glosses, quad 2, hollywood nights both beauty powders. I am seriously thinking about going back for the 3 other lipsticks and quad 1. I had no interest in the duo liners as I have a ton of liners as is that I don't use often enough. The packaging is so cute too.

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

Okay, in a moment of complete lack of self-control, I drove an extra hour out of my way home from work to check out the collection. My closest counter had all of the collection still in stock, but I think it was because they didn't have a proper display for it and it was very easy to overlook. I finally had to ask one of the MAs where the collection was.
Heatherette is completely lovely. The packaging is so much better than Fafi, so pretty and well made. And very girly! I hastily decided to cancel all of my back ordered items from my online order and picked up:

Lollipop Loving - is gorgeous, but I think Sock Hop or some similar color lg is a necessity with this. It is sheer by itself, but paired with Sock hop, it's beautiful. I agree with putting on Sock hop first then applying LL over it. It looks so much better that way and the sparkles actually show up. I wanted a coral lipstick for summer, but not a loud orangish one. This is perfect, very flattering and the subtle green sparkles are the icing on the cake. I'm definitely getting another one of these.

Melrose Mood - A really blue based pink. Think pepto-bismol. I picked it up, but also got Starlet Kiss to go with it, as it makes it more wearable, especially if you're on the warmer side. I may have to play with this one to get it to work for me.

Sock Hop - looks scary orange in the tube, but is much softer applied. Perfect with LL l/s.

Starlet Kiss - a softer pink than Melrose Mood and pretty all on it's own.

Alphagirl - Warm pink and fairly pigmented. I'm NC20 to NC25 and could use this as a blush. It isn't as smooth as some of my other beauty powder, but is still very pretty and the pink case, sigh.

I have both of the trios coming in from my online order, but from my quick testing of them at the counter, the green trio was the pick of the litter. That green is completely gorgeous and unique. It's hard to explain, but I can't think of any greens I have that are like it. The iridescence in it is mesmerizing.

This collection is definitely my big MAC splurge for 2008. I liked most of the pieces in this collection. Props to MAC for knocking my socks off with this one.

I am so obsessed with this collection!

I bought Alphagirl, Trio 1 and Fleshpot. I also got a few samples of the pigments and glitters. Next week I'll be buying more. I can't wait!

i really wanted them but since they are not safe for usage around the eyes im going to pass. i wanted a glitter that would be safe for on the eye to give my look a little more shimmer if i wanted that.

I got (B2M) the first lipstick at The Bay on Bloor. I had enough B2M for two Lollipop Loving, but the lighting in the store made it look so pale... I only B2M for one.

Then I was walking along Bloor... I can not go past a MAC store without walking in! What is it about the place that just pulls me in. Anyway, I still had the extra 6 empties in my purse, so I ended up getting a Bonus Beat.

Long story, but I B2M at two different places.

I'm not sure about the Lollypop lipstick though. The colour is gorgeous but so pale on me and a bit dry. I wish it were a Lustre.

If you're interested, I did a video review of most of the collection. I'm wearing Trio#1 and Pink Pearl to line the bottom lashes. HTH!

YouTube - Heatherette for MAC Reviews!

I also attended a Press Event about the collection, and learned about the development of the line, Richie's faves, which model he gave the collection to, and all that good stuff. I also talk about my favorites from the collection, show swatches, and much more! Here's the newest video on Heatherette!!!

Re: glitter . . .

can somebody point me to a list of recommended usage for the glitters? I can find the pigment list, but as far as glitter goes, I'm stumped. Where does it say that these are not eye-safe? Are they lip safe?

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

Just out of curiosity, does anyone happen to own Apex 3DGlass and are getting/got Lollipop Loving? I'd like to see a swatch of Apex over LL since Apex is described on the mac website as a "sheer orange with green pearl", and LL has green gold irridescence. Just sounds like an interesting combo!

Oh and BTW I picked up LL today which I love! Didn't get Sock Hop cuz I tried to use it for B2M and the MA said I couldn't but now I'm regretting not just buying it and I'm thinking of going back!

Do you know when it was out? Hopefully things won't be sold out quickly or I will cry!!! Cuz I called both the pro store and counter at the bay on Tuesday, they said it won't be out until 27th. That's why I didn't come earlier

I am soo broke right now! I bought all four of the eyeliners- I couldn't resist. I am an eyeliner whore. The colors are rich and the glittery pencils look gorgeous layered over the darker colors.
I bought eyeshadow trio # 1- I love the sea foam green! I also bought Jardin Aires pigment ( gorgeous! ) and Sock Hop. I'm thinking about going back for the bps... I am really feeling this collection.

they say so on the sides of the boxes. however, when the reflects came out with the originals, our update books said that they were opthalmologist approved, but the boxes said not in eye area. but, what you do on your own....
sneaky.gif
they are lip safe tho.

you can use them with nail polish, hair gel, body lotion, lipglass, and anywhere on the face (excluding eye). hth.

Thanks! As a sample whore, I don't get to see what the boxes say for the piggies / glitters. Much appreciated.

I'm thinking that covering my lips with the 3d silver glitter might make a fitting final look for the 80's-themed-drag show I'm working on . . .
