i made my to get list last night and had to cut it down! i want pretty much all cheek products and a couple of lipsticks and glosses. i am however skipping the mes because i feel like i can dupe them with what i already have or i'm just not into the colour :) just have to wait for next week to order now :)
Which lipsticks are you wanting?

I'm really hoping I can get Cut a Caper and Venus (so long as I do like them in person) tomorrow.

I haven't been blown over by this collection, but I am still interested in two of the eye shadows, one of the blushes, one of the skin finishes, and the volcanic ash exfoliator. I'll probably get a sample of the exfoiator first as I've read that it can break some people out, so hopefully my skin won't hate this product, but I don't want to spend that much money (even if you can return it).

I love the theme and if it wouldn't destroy the funds in my account I'd happily get everything I wanted, but I am trying to limit myself as with Hey, Sailor! I bought something like twelve of the items. Reel Sexy was similar. This year has just had some really nice collections. I am hoping that the Marilyn collection will be nice as well.

I'm surprised Astral isnt getting more love. It's so gorgeous! I can see myself wearing this alot. I wore sky all day today and it held up nicely! I've been wearing it for 12 hours and it only has tiny tiny bit of fading. And this was through work as well. My sky has a lot of the blue matte, maybe that's why it lasted so well. But some too faced glitter glue will help with the ones with more shimmer. Plus I usually put my mes over shadows. That seems to help.

Just back from Mac! I was able to hand pick all I wanted: all MSFs, all MBs and 6 MES (skipping Bright Moon, Earthly, and Neo Nebula).

MSF - unfortunately they did not have really good ones to choose from. Only Light Year was what I was looking for (just a little of the metallic).
MB - I think I'm going to be most happy with these swirls, some of them are really nice!
MES - unfortunately they had received only 2 pots to choose from for some of my faves; Water, Sky, and Magnetic Attraction (!). I think I got some good ones though, nice swirls and some have more solid parts, like yellow and orange in MA, green in Water, and dark brown in UA.

I will pick the babies up on Sunday, and try to post some pics!
I think I have once again supported my Mac quite enough. Now I can relax and get the lippies (M2B for Venus & Fire Sign, and Astral and Meteoric) on my vacation... and possibly eye some "backups", because I can always sell this hot stuff!!!

Hi, liba!

How did you like Star Wonder? Do you think it's a must-have? Love to hear your thoughts.

I've only got Light Year MSF so far. I got them in the mail today. Actually, I ordered 2. MAC sent me one Light Year MSF and one Mineralize Skin Finish Natural

(a wrong item), but luckily they already fixed the problem. Imagine my surprise! I cannot wait to try Light Year tomorrow!

I didn't like Rose Quartz from last year - 'felt like it was too limited and pretty much had to be worn as a blush. Star Wonder is much more versatile. I couldn't get Earthshine to work for me at all, but Star Wonder was effortless. I'd also say that it's a very good color for wearing year round, without just being a plain highlighter or bronzer. Compared to the rest of the MSFs I own, SW is one of the most unique, while still staying simple to deal with (nice and sheer if you want, or simple to build up).

For you, Peachsuns, from what I remember of your coloring, plus the fact you're in CA, so you most probably get decent sunshine a big chunk of the year, I'd say for sure get it. The color is a little bit similar to Blonde, but the texture is far superior and not frosty at all. Get a small swirl of metallic in it if you don't want it too sparkly. Crystal Pink is still my favorite of the unusual colorful MSFs, but SW is probably going to wind up as my #1 runner up. It's far superior to Petticoat, and we know how pretty that one is.....

I just got my ticket for the lottery. I could choose the last number and i chose a 7 since Heavenly Creature comes out on the 7th here. That should work right?

You can click the picture to see it larger, but left to right:

NARS Orgasm - NARS Deep Throat - Fleet Fast - Ring of Saturn - Stunner - Modern Mandarin - Peaches

Ring of Saturn seems closest to Deep Throat but DT is more pink. I wouldn't say they're close enough to be dupes! I would say Fleet Fast looks more like Deep Throat than RoS looking like Deep Throat.
Thanks for posting this! I was planning on buying Deep Throat this weekend, but it doesn't seem any more or less shimmery than RoS. Hm...maybe I could get away with that level of sheen. I've tried DT and wasn't bothered by its sheen, even in natural light. Orgasm was just too gold; I had that one but didn't keep it.

I'm glad I"m not the only one OD'ing on coral blushes!

Hey ladies... I have loved lurking/ living in this thread and finally have box 1; which contains CotU and galaxy rose. I missed the UPS guy yesterday who was bringing Star Wonder and Lightyear. Gonna be posted at home today waiting for him. Since I love the cremesheen formula... I had to exercise restraint not to get meteoric. But I think that will be part of order 3 (if NAILS is still working). Earthshine is the only one I didn't get because even though I'm WOC; I didn't know I'd do with it.. and just like you all my MU collection is obese. But maybe I can be swayed.

I will come back and post some swatches once my 2nd order gets here today.

I had to tell you all this - I think I found the rarest of creatures. A man who doesn't think having more than two lipstick is odd. I was showing my husband the ridiculously large box MAC sends to ship even a single lippie (I don't hide orders - we each have discretionary money to save or spend as we wish) and I mentioned that I've really had fun rebuilding my collection but that I'm going to slow down now because I want to keep a manageable (for me) amount. He slid my makeup/nail polish drawer open (everything I have still fits into one of those expandable plastic cutlery inserts) and said, "This doesn't look like that much makeup. Don't most women have a makeup drawer or something?" Granted, I don't have a huge stash, but it's a reasonable size. A couple of dozen OPI polishes, a couple of dozen lippies/lg, a dozen or so blush, foundations/primers/powders, some single e/s, 2-3 quads, a 15-pan palette, liners, fluidlines, etc. He even suggested that I should get what else I need in the US this weekend if it's cheaper. I loves him. :cloud9:
Audrey, my hubby like yours, he doesn't think I'm crazy, that I have TONS of makeup. He goes through the collections with me before they release, and tells me what he likes the best. Then when my order comes in, he looks at everything with me, granted his eyes start glazing over after the 5th item. I'm just glad I have someone to share my excitement with! I don't hide my orders either. We each have our discretionary money to save or spend as well. We are very blessed to hubbies that understand our passion for makeup!! :bouquet:

T may dislike the MES, but I really love all of the eye looks she did with them! Seeing 3 different ones in 1 look makes me want to get them all...

I don't know that he actually gets why I like it as much as I do, but he's certainly supportive and definitely understands the need to dress/groom appropriately for my professional role. No issues there at all. Besides, we're both naturally financially conservative. We've savers; this is just my play money. I didn't indulge for years when the kids were younger and I couldn't afford to. I had makeup, of course, but just 'enough'. If I couldn't pay for it I'm sure he'd say something, but he knows that's not my nature. :)

Sounds like there are plenty of other men who have no issue with it. My hubby doesn't have any expensive hobbies, but there's not much difference (IMO) between female discretionary spending (makeup and the like) and male discretionary spending (electronics). I don't need 20 lipsticks, but he didn't need a plasma TV in the basement either. Within reason (after essentials and saving for longer term goals have been taken care of), we indulge both in a measured way.

I was just looking at swirl pictures on the net. Did you notice that the Mineralize stuff in the first promo pictures we received actually have hardly any swirls at all!? Odd!

Another odd thing is that often the best item ends up to be the tester! This happened when Lightscapade came out: the one that had most blue in it was the tester. And when Naturally came out they had a wonderful Cloudy Afternoon with half totally white (cream) and half veins as tester.

I did not really much pay attention to testers for this collection though because I rushed to choose my swirls on the lunch break.
