I agree! Even for a child's compact, it's still a little...gaudy? I can't see MAC putting something out like that...and am I the only one who's all "WTF? $145 for that?!" It'd better be Swarovski crystals for that price!

I'm super excited for this, just like everybody else, but the question that pops to my head isn't about the packaging and colour story, it is: WHY NOW?!

World's economy is going bust, prices of everything are going up, we're trying to save as much money as possible to save up for necessities like gas, food, electricity... how are we gonna be able to spend tons on Hello Kitty collection?

I'm still going to get everything that I can

. So I wont eat for a while, it's ok, I'm overweight anyway

It's kind of a good move for MAC, if you think about it. Yeah, the economy's down, but they're doing everything they can to stimulate it. Maybe, just maybe, after the election things will start to pick up and show signs of improvement. And they have to keep their revenue up, too. Maybe that's why there's all these new collections out. And Shimmer's secrets are making us want it more, and I'm sure other bits of info are floating around out there. Smart move, MAC. Make us want it more.

I've already started saving, too, but I'm sort of..avoiding MAC from now until it's released. I know this is what I want, so I'm willing to wait. And save. And if I have to eat Ramen for a few months, TOTALLY worth it

And maybe it's me. I don't want to know until it's closer to time. Why torture myself? I mean, I want to pick out what I want to buy, so I don't spend TOO much money, but it's fun not knowing. It's like Christmas. It's worth the wait. And what fun would it be once we find out? It's fun to speculate and bounce ideas off people.

My thoughts exactly. All I'm sayin' is that we shouldn't stay online the night of like Manish and create a huge hype. I really really want EVERYONE to get their HK and be happy instead of sell outs, inflamed prices and resorting to ebay.

Those didn't do it for me..Just too many rhinestones/jewels put me off, too me they start looking a little too childish and tacky (please dont hit me! I do love HK!)

They don't do it for me, either. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Fancy, jeweled things like that don't look like MAC to me! The Fafi stuff was definitely MAC with the Fafi flair. That's what I'm hoping this collection will be like. I *love* the black laquered containers that collection came in, and I really want something like that for this collection. Or even white laquered. Just no gemstones. They'll fall off, anyway!

I put those up as examples of how Hello Kitty can be done "outside of the box". Not as examples of what my tastes are per se. Shimmer said think "outside the box" so I tried. I think they will definitely do something different, perhaps like the Hello Kitty shaped compact, but like I said in my post, with MAC's spin on it. Which would be more tasteful.

The brush holder sounds great - and some HK brushes to go in it, please.

A MAC/HK 187???? How hot would that be? I do hope they do some brushes for this collection - I would actually be more keen on brushes/accessories than colour cosmetics.

I am a fan of bright colours! I hope for bright reds, oranges or pinks!
