MAC Hey, Sailor! (Summer 2012) Discussion

I stayed away from this thread as long as I could. I was planning on skipping this collection altogether, but the kids gave me a MAC gift card for Mother's Day. I thought about saving all of it for the Heavenly Creature collection in July. Realistically, however, I won't be able to hold out that long.

So I have a small list for this collection. I plan on getting: Sail la Vie, Shore Leave, and Jaunty.

I already splurged on a Chanel bronzer this year, so the bronzers are a skip. I have enough highlighters to sparkle into my 80's, so that is a skip. I LOVE Scarlett Ibis & Flamingo, so the other ls are a skip. I bought too many lipglasses from the fashion sets collection, so those will also be a skip. I hauled from TC collection, so skipping the blushes. I never like MAC nps or body oils.

The only skip that I am fussing over is feeling fresh. But then I have Jealousy Wakes and Surf USA that I only rarely use. So I really should skip it.

Now I am going to jump back out of this thread before I change my mind on anything. I agree that one list-one order strategy is the best way to go if you want to save $$ and avoid impulse buys.

It's very soft. Love it!

Wouldn't use it for MSF though, but for softer products, such as the PLW bronzer, it is is ideal. However, using it with firmly pressed powders will cause the brush to splay.
What about with Beauty Powders like How Beautiful from Glitter and Ice? I still haven't found the perfect brush for application of that!

Yeah, I'm right near the Galleria. I hope I get it Wed, but if it goes the way it did last time, it won't be til Thursday. I'm optimistic though lol!
Girlie, mine is telling me Thursday by the end of the day. You live right down the street, right? WTH? LOL!!!!

I wish I had gotten those, they were so pretty. Maybe I need to make a trip to the CCO. Anyone seen them there yet?

Well, I was a hair stylist for part of my life. Have had my membership for a while. LOL!

Dental Hygiene is my second career(15 years in since graduating from UTDB) AND I am about ready for another one. Thinking about being a Lifeflight nurse...

Who says we have to stick with one career throughout our lives, right?

I called the CCO in Cypress the other day looking for the 222 brush. She told me they didn't get any new brushes in, but have this collection there. You may want to call and see if they have the Beauty Powders there!

I have How Beautiful.

I remember seeing one of the Glitter and Ice BP compacts at my CCO, but I can't remember which one. They might have them at your CCO, it doesn't hurt to call.

I know what you mean, I used to do Interior Decorating but got tired of dealing with people who think that the shades of their drapes will dictate the course of their lives, I live in WI and I'm currently attending school again (p/t) to get a Human services degree. well no hope for me to get a membership then :( lol

Yes, being an RDH is great, but you can get burned out. It is a wonderful career... I love my job, love my patients...but sometimes I want to do more. I need more chaos in my life, I guess...I am too settled and complacent at the moment.

I know I will need at least another two years for that career, but I feel like I need a change, and I need that adrenaline rush and love helping people at the same time. So yeah, I think being a Flight Nurse would be right up my alley.

How long have you been an RDH?
