MAC Huggable Collection (May 14, 2015)

I received my Huggable in the mail today - the only one I ordered, "Play It Soft." I was debating between the corals - "Play It Soft" and "Fashion Force" - but ultimately chose the former thinking that FF might be too orange (my skin tends to bring out the orange in colors). Well, "Play It Soft" is a beautiful fresh pink but, alas, there is NO orange once I apply it to my lips. It has a translucency to it that makes me think that my original choice, "Flaming Lips," might have been easier to pull off than I decided it would be. Overall, the formula is the same great moisturizing, smooth texture that I remember from last year and "Play It Soft" is still such a pretty pink. I would order more but I have to reserve my money for the other collections this summer. :)

These are my bare lips.

That's Mineralize Rich in Dreaminess.

That's Fashion Force. I wasn't sure about this one, but wanted to try it and I'm glad I did. It's a fun color!

That one is Play it Soft. It's just a nice little pop of color.
Thank you! I like the look of the Huggables better than the Mineralize lippy. I'm def going to try the Huggables now. I really like both colors on you. Play it Soft is especially nice, I might have to add that to my list.

Try pairing it with an orange liner like Chicory. I'm wearing it that way to bring out the coral tones.

I must get fashion force now.
Peeping to see which one is Fashion Force. I keep seeing the name pop up. I like the name alone without seeing the color!

Still not sure how I feel about these, I'll have to wait until I get to a MAC store so I can try them out.

It was a little scary when I first looked at it, but I can see myself keeping it in my purse for my "made up" days. Haha. I have days where I just have on tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara and a tinted balm. Then my made up days I spend a little more time on my makeup and can throw a fun color on my lips without looking like a little girl who got into moms makeup.

Bummer re: OFP. Hope you find it soon. You know, I'm actually disappointed with the colour range in this collection. The first one had so much more variety IMO. My favorite shade in this collection is Fashion Force, which also happens to be a repromote. Go figure lol. I'm interested in Flaming Lips, Bare Hug, I'm In and Play it Soft but I'm not terribly crazy about them. I'd also have loved to see Rich Marron and OFP back. Along with Rusty, which I absolutely adore. And Commotion, because skippers' remorse sucks! :yuck:
I kick myself for skipping Commotion too!

Thanks for the suggestion! :) I need to look into liners. I own a few drugstore ones and one by MAC but I have to confess...I NEVER use them. Even with red lipstick lol. x_x I'm thinking of picking up some from Colour Pop once I do decide to enter that danger zone lolol. I know that would be the solution to most of my problems ('too this,' 'too that,' 'not enough of this,' etc). I just wish I could find the perfect lipstick for certain categories, that don't need the help, LOL.

Thanks! I might have to get a couple more because I do like how they feel.

This thread died last night, guess everyone is interested in Wash & Dry right now....Anyway, I picked up Im Game and Im in. I wasnt even really planning on buying any, those ones especially but they caught my eye and looked pretty, im excited to use them since so many people raved about them and I missed out last year

I bought Play It Soft and Fashion Force this morning. I tried "I'm In" but it looked so pale on my skin that I wasn't sure about it... it really reminded me of the Dior Lipglow I have so I left without it. I'm open to reconsidering it but I'll see how the two I bought work out for now. My counter didn't get very many of each colour... like four of each so I bought one back up of Play It Soft just in case. The MUA was really surprised by how little they sent that counter.

I dont think I tried Play It soft but when I came back to this thread and looked at TwiggyPops swatches again I felt like I should of, I did try a bright pink but I dont remember what it was. Fashion Force I liked as well but I dont think corals look the best on me unfortunately. I got Im In, it was light on me as well but I dont have many of those types of colours and (I guess) its nice to tone it down sometimes

I think the only Huggable i'll get is I'm In. The other two i was considering - Bare Hug and Soft Talkin' - look too orange for me. I'm In looks like a nice warm pink.

However, speaking of orange, i'm wearing Flamingo today. It looks sooo orange in the tube (for me, anyway, who doesn't wear orange). Then when i first put it on, it's uneven and chalky looking, so i smooth it with my finger and it's fine. And shortly afterwards, i think because my lips are a fairly strong blue-pink, it looks like a coral-y pink rather than orange. Warm pink i can wear.

Swatched Fashion Force today, it's nice. They are pretty lipsticks, but I don't know that I want to spend $20 on a glossy lipstick that isn't opaque.
