MAC In Extra Dimension Collection 2013 (April 2013)

Just got my first item from this collection, Bareness blush. I was a bit nervous as swatched on my hand it looked very shimmery, but happily that doesn't seem to translate to the face. It's a lovely neutral colour, and I had no problem picking up enough colour with my favourite 129 brush. Can't wait to get my hands on some more of these!

The 3 EDSF I ordered were delivered today. I like the way the colors look in the pan. Shape the Future has the finger smudges that were previously mentioned in this thread. I may exchange it. My Definitely Defined also has a small crack in it. None of the boxes were closed. So far, this collection has been a small haul for me.

Extra Dimension Skinfinish

  • Double Definition
  • Shape the Future
  • Definitely Defined

Brush

  • 235 Split Fibre All Over Eye Brush

I'm so happy to finally have the 235 brush. It was the only split fibre brush I wasn't able to get from the original Semi-Precious release. I think I may get a few of the EDES. I want to swatch them first. I've made zero effort to go see any of the recent collections in stores. I'm considering Zestful, Smokey Mauve, Opalesse and maybe Triple Impact. Eh. I'm not sure. I would like more EDES in deeper colors, like an emerald green, sapphire blue and terracotta orange.
Oh, those would be lovely! I have not received my stuff yet, but I'm ok with the lighter ones this time. The originals were mostly quite dark, so now I can mix them.

Just got home with my goodies, I can't wait to try them all!

I also got a jumper and a dress. There was another dress I really liked, but I told myself that £48 was too much, despite the fact that I just spent 3 times that

The first time I tried Lets Skate, I was disappointed b/c no pink. It is basically clear on me with tiny silver sparkles. Now, I find it is perfect if I want a product that will help my powder e/s stick and add tiny silver shimmer without changing the color of the powder shadows. So, if you want a pink PP, skip it. If you want a great neutral that just adds pretty silver shimmer like microglitter really, that doesn't migrate (not at all for me, all day long > 12 hrs) then get it! It is becoming my favorite, although to be fair, I haven't tried Fancy Frosting yet. HTH

Gorgeous haul! Which blush is that? Interested to hear what you think of StF, that's on my maybe list but I know you're a similar skintone to me. (Def Def is a def LOL!)

It's At Dusk! I'm not sure if STF is going to work that well on me since it's so pigmented, but I'm willing to give it a try! Def Def is my favourite, it's so so pretty!

Well, nearly a drawer full of my makeup storage is composed of Extra Dimension products now...

I'm still tempted by Double Definition EDSF, Flaming Chic EDB and Triple Impact EDES though :(

Edit: My two new favourite combos are Opalesse + Smoky Mauve in the crease, and Zestful + Modern Pewter :D I have one green eye and one pink one. I need to remember not to leave the house.

Gracie, how are you using Zestful with Modern Pewter? I love Zestful's shimmery goodness on my arm but not so much on my eye. Too light yet bright at the same time. Did you layer it over MP? I'm trying to find a way to make Zestful work before gifting it away.

I just put Zestful all over my lid and then MP in the crease. Still very shimmery but there was more depth to it compared to Z alone :)

IIm the same way! LOL Can't spend money on stuff, but can blow over a $100 on makeup in an instant.

TSO, I wanted to report in that the hourglass 2 brush is soooo nice and picks up the color of the blushes beautifully. I like it so much better than the split fibre brush in this collex. I used it with Blazing Haute. Now I don't get a lot of "color", but it does brighten the cheek area.

I don't like Zestful alone on the lid on me. It's both a depth and a shimmer issue. I think it's just not for me. I have a lot of greens that I love - this just isn't one of them. It's a bit better over Lime and Bottle Green, but since they're my only matte greens I kinda like wearing them as mattes.

If it doesn't work for you then there's no shame in passing it on! I went through my stash and gave a fair few things to my mum that work a hell of a lot better on her than they ever did on me :)

I don't like keeping things that aren't flattering or that I won't use. There are cooler toned, younger females just down the hall who are usually happy to take my mistakes. Surprisingly, no one in the house likes this one.

I just picked up Def Def (the darker shade in StF was way too oranger on me), At Dusk, Flaming Chic, Opalesse, Zestful, Smoky Mauve and the face brush. Yikes. Still thinking about Triple Impact and Dimensional Blue.
