Thank you, Ana! I am new to Instagram and need to figure out how to search for all these MAC people so I can assist with pics/info also. I like that yellow/gold shadow and the lippies from what I can make out. Can't wait to find out more info on the upcoming collections.
You're welcome b-day twin

.... like Erine said instead of searching for people search for random hashtags under the search "tags" section tab. I found that one under #macupdate.

Thanks, Pinkdollface. I appreciate your input. I already have Nocturnelle, so I'll probably just skip PP. I have so many shadows already (it's hard to keep track of them all), I think I'll just be purchasing the must-have stand-out colors.
No problem. I see Erine doesn't like Nocturnelle, but as long as you like it I think you will be fine. If you have the option to swatch in store you can judge for youself.
Erine it's indeed funny how you like PP but not Nocturnelle!

I have it in both the Evil Eye quad and the Palace Pedigreed quad from Fabulous Felines. I do think the one in my Evil Eye quad sucks (as in has bad pigmentation, I like it as a light transitioning colour). The other shadows in that quad are better. The one in my Palace Pedigreed quad is better, but I'm not liking it that much. I prefer Nocturnal from the permanent line.
Oh its in the Evil Eye Quad. I have that one. I don't recall using it much so I guess I didn't use it. Maybe the single is better.

Does anyone out there know if they changed Palace Pedigreed at all? I was doing a little digging on previous reviews of that shade. I came across T's review. She really disliked that shadow both of the times it has already been released. She didn't hold back any punches on dogging it at all. She had stated something along the lines of what a disappointment it was in both releases.

What do you guys think???
I have a feeling that PP will be much better as a single shadow. I know Carbon is very decent on its own, but when it's in a quad, it's a nightmare.

Here is what T had said:

  • Palace Pedigreed is a blackened burgundy with a barely-there sheen. This has a satin finish. This shade was in the Palace Pedigreed Eyeshadow Quad from Fabulous Felines, and while the pigmentation wasn’t great then, it’s even worse now. It’s dry, sheer, and applies unevenly because of how dry and stiff the texture is. Make Up For Ever #131 is much more red-based. Bare Escentuals Passion is more similar but still has a stronger red-base. Le Metier de Beaute is richer and more red-based. MAC Fig. 1 is similar but possibly darker.

This is quite possibly the most disappointing eyeshadow quad I’ve ever had the displeasure of trying by MAC. I think the only MAC product I’ve been more disappointed by were their Suite Array duos from years ago. Even the Big Bounce Eyeshadows, despite not meeting claims, were a product that worked well as a base. At $38, this kind of quality is a slap in the face to a buyer. Three of the four shades have barely-there pigmentation, and those same three have dry, stiff textures that make application frustrating–it doesn’t get better with a brush or on eyes. I appreciate matte and satin finish eyeshadows, but these mattes are exactly why many opt for shimmers and the like.

The version that was released originally with Fabulous Felines was considerably better than the Evil Eye version. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality difference seems to have been quite substantial. Assuming it's more like the original, it's a nice deep berry colour, purple enough that it doesn't make you look like you've got red splotches around your eyes, but bright enough that it doesn't just look muddy.

Not meant for colour swatch (its gloomy and thunderstormy outside), but quality swatch

PP quad (top), EE quad (bottom) I find them both to have the same quality of colour payoff. I do notice the sparkle a bit more in the PP quad than in the EE quad, but this isn't a formula or colour that any sparkle would make a noticeable difference.

Yes. Facebook. It took me some time also. Everytime I would get cozy with it, they (fb) would change the friggin layout. I hate the new timeline. Why can't they just let it be?! As for Instagram, I will start to play with more thanks to your assistance.

I'm good with IG and FB!

Tumblr's fun. Takes some getting used to, but not hard to get the hang of. It's mostly people just reblogging other people's posts and adding something to them. You also follow people the same way you would Twitter, and their posts show up on your dashboard.

ok so SS is a SATIN??? That's great, because I think I have enough sheerer deep plums between Yung Rapunxel and Boyfriend Stealer. Sweet Succulence looks much cooler toned than Prince Noire, but not so brownish as the RiRi one is looking to be!

FtS, SS and Smash Hit for me - although I remember not buying Smash Hit when it first came out because I was getting Liquid Lurex and didn't want something to samey. MAC REALLY needs to do a color like Sweet Succulence in the Dazzle formula (or even Firm Form - black with bronze dazzle- that would be insanely beautiful!!!!)

Thank you, ladyarwen! I need to really give myself some time to figure all these new things out. Strange thing is I'm usually pretty tech savvy, but no more. Everything changes so fast nowadays. I can barely keep up with what's new and what's out.

There are definitely "good" lustres and bad lustres - the good ones being smooth and pigmented and not drying. Same thing for the satins - the newer LE satins are much much better and not so drying.

What I do is apply a coat of the lustre, then pat it into my lips with a fingertip (rather than blotting with a tissue, which makes it patchy), then I do a second coat on top. I find this gets rid of any unevenness plus it makes the color stay on much better. I will admit, I also do rather like the way lustres look when they've dried down and been partially faded too, it's a soft effect.

I think she meant is that SS is the lustre but she had said that Just a Bite was the lustre when in fact it is a satin.
