Greens are in for the fall and yet MAC choosing to discontinue Greenstroke p/p and Lucky Jade s/s?
angry.gif
and yeah MAC, when are you going to release a blue and purple p/p, that will be around for while?

Ok, I am working up a steam here, When are you going to release a lighter shimmery version of Constructivist something that not beige like (Bare Study, Beiging s/s, Bare Canvas).

Can't wait to see the Essential Beige p/p though, yall maybe think
it might be just a matte beige, though.

If they go by the description, it should definitely be a frost. Hopefully, it's a little darker than Bare Study.

I'm with you with the purple p/p... That would be great. Like a really bright PERMANENT one...lol. None of this LE mumbo jumbo. Paint pots are my fav...

I hate Beige-ing too. All the shadesticks I've tried really. I keep trying to make them work though...lol. They just always seem to crease on me and I hate tugging them onto my eye or seeing someone else do it! It just gives me chills!

I like beige-ing cause it makes the colours truer on my lids, but it makes my eyelids kinda scaley, like snake skin, it just goes a bit weird on me
thmbdn.gif
.

The only other one s/s i have is sharkskin, which I have never actually used other than to swatch it on my hands. I hate it

.

I much prefer paintpots, although I only have painterly and bare canvas. I do want more, i'll definitly be buying Essential Beige.

Ok all you paint pot lovers. Convert me. I am afraid eventually my beloved Bare Canvas paint will be discontinued and I will be forced to deal with paint pots, so why not start now. I already have two, Rollickin' and Greenstroke, and I use my fingers to apply. Maybe that's why I hate them? They seem really dry compared to the regular paints. Are they supposed to be that way? I think a neutral one would be good to have, so that's why essential beige has sparked my interest. What am I doing wrong? Everyone seems to love them but me

You might be applying the Paint Pots too heavily, maybe? The first one I bought was Soft Ochre and hated it at first, thought it was too dry and cakey, but after realizing that it just needed to be applied with a light hand it's become my favourite all-around-base for eyeshadow. My favourite application tools for the pots are my fingertips. I use a small flat brush to get them in the inner corners of my lids when my nails have grown too long, though. I tried a flat brush (242 I think) a few times but I think fingers work a lot better with these.

Parrot as a p/p would be like dying and going to MAC heaven!

Lippies and the paint pot from this collection sound very intriguein indeed but for the eyeshadows leave kinda cold except for the purple one.
As for the CCB's I'm a bit clueless. I have one and hardly ever use it and when I do I use it as a highlight but I'm sure there are other things you can use them for but I just don't know what they are

I use my fingers but they have promoted the 231 with them; it's good, I'm just usually too lazy to bother with it...I imagine any small synthetic brush would do if you want to go the brush route. They may feel dry to the finger but they dry my lids out much less than paints, which is a very good thing.

If I ever have to see Bare Canvas paint go, you can rest assured there will be screaming. I will be sitting at my computer, cussing out MAC.

As for the paint pots, I usually use my 252 to apply them.

I don't mind shadesticks. I rub them between my hands to warm them up, and then I don't find they tug my lids at all. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but since it does for me, I go with it. Beige-ing works really well under Smudged Violet. Also, my lids don't tend to be oily, so I don't have creasing problems.

I can't imagine using the 231 to apply paint pots on the lid - it's so teeny! It would take SO LONG.

I usually keep my paint pot application pretty sheer, but I have no problems with layering it to build it up for a more intense colour. I definitely have to emphasize the layering, too, rather than slapping on a ton at once.

I use The Bodyshop e/s brush to apply my paint pots and it does the job beautyfully.
It's this one http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/image..._oMagazine.jpg
Like Sanayhs said layering is the key if you want to make your p/p's really pop. What I do is I take some colour to my brush and kind of tap it on instead of wiping it, kinda like you would do with pigments. I hope that helps a bit

First of all, let me say that Rollickin' sucks ass so that might have something to do with it. My Bare Study goes on like a dream. I would start with something like that. I have a couple that are "thicker" and a little more difficult to apply, but paints like Indianwood, Constructivist, Cash Flow, Rubenesque, etc. go on so smoothly.

I use my finger to apply. The ones that are a little bit thicker are harder to apply with a brush in my opinion. I don't like using brushes with them at all unless I just "happen" to be in the mood. Then I'll use my 242, but I always end up with way more product. The thicker ones do seem a lot drier, like Groundwork. I have a rough time with that one. The frosts seem to be the easiest to apply, but that wouldn't explain your difficulty with Greenstroke. Perhaps you just got a crappy one? But, my Rollickin' is so thick and difficult to work with. If I had to base my opinions of paint pots on that one, I would hate them....

I actually have two 242 brushes because I love them so much for applying paints and shadesticks. I usually use my finger to put the paint pot on and then use the 242 to sheer it out if I need it. I just got fresco rose paint pot the other day and that color is gorgeous! It looks great with colors like pink and peach.

I don't have that one, but both Perky and Rubenesque look lovely with peach and pink.

I don't like putting my fingers in my paint pots.

Me either

You have so wash your hands to that the products isn't all over the handles of your brushes and that's just takes too much time.

Audrey, no fear, I hated them at first too. I use a 252 brush to apply (242 would work, its a smaller version of the 252), and I found that was very helpful. They are great bases when applied properly. A little bit goes a long way too with these things.

STORE THEM UPSIDE DOWN AUDREY! Trust me. Whenever I buy a new one, they are hard to apply, but after a few days of being upside down, they are super creamy. And there's nothing wrong with applying them with your fingers on yourself.

I don't really use the coloured ones, so I'm kinda glad this one will be a kind of beige colour.
