Mac makeup stolen

Okay, I can't believe that one of my bestfriend's stole my Pas de deux l/g. I'm currently living in Detroit, MI and I went home for the weekend to see my family and friends. I was so proud to show off my MAC collection to her. I even gave her my spring bean mini from the holiday set. I know that she doesn't always get to purchase items that she wants, but I always try to mention to her the must haves. Well I told her that Pas De duex was my new favorite l/g. I never thought that she would swipe it. So I didn't check before driving back to MI. I guess she didn't know that I have a MAC inventory checklist. But I knew without even using the list that she had taken the l/g. I think this may be the turning point in our relationship. Why would she take it when she knew that it was my favorite? Every store here with 20 miles does not have Pas de duex. I had to order off of the internet. How do I mend this relationship? She knows how obsessed I am. Maybe I should share more and then she will feel like she does not need to steal.

Shoe: Are you sure she stole it? From reading your post, I don't get why you think she took it.

If you take something without asking, isn't that stealing? She never even mentioned that she had it until I called her and told her that I was looking for it. I just wish that she would of asked for it instead of taking it. I'm sure I would of said no, but I would of gave her the money to purchase her own.

I can't believe that people have 'freinds' who steal their makeup! Just as well when I go off to college this year my traincase has a lock on it

Ooo, you missed this in your initial post. Yes, I'd consider that stealing unless she some how strangely grabbed it by accident.

i was at my friend's cabin with her & one of her best friend's (who i don't exactly get along with). i brought a bunch of my MAC & when i got home i realized my wonderstruck l/g was missing. (they would both always ask to use it cuz they loved it so much) i asked them about it but they had no idea what i was talking about.

i'm pretty sure it was her best friend that took it cuz she doesn't own a lot of MAC.

No, but my sister always USES my makeup. I have specific brushes for specific "jobs" and every now and then I'll get my highlight brush and I'll have blue eyeshadow all over my eye. Wonder who did that? Haha.

This is f*cked up, on my birthday two of my cousins came over and locked themselves in my vanity area, I have a separate vanity table with a wall-to-wall mirror and a table which holds my MAC. After they left I discovered my make-up drawer was half-way open, and to make matters worse it was my l/g drawer...I'm a lipgloss ADDICT...big time...and i discovered my VG5 and VG6 were gone and so were some of my lacquers...I was fumingly mad...I marched my butt back to their house and demanded they give it back to me...they denied it at first but I got my stuff back...It's soooooooo GOD DAMN F*CKED UP when people do that...ladies im sorry please excuse my language...but it's so frustrating...I love my MU...no one has a right to take it from me...

The thing that gets me about these stories about theft and makeup is that it always seems to be done by someone you know and it always sounds like the person doesn't know that much about makeup, so they could just go to the MAC counter or store and get their own.

No offense to anyone, but it's really disgusting to steal someone else's makeup with the intent to use it. I'm a bit of a germaphobe but stuff like lipstick and lipgloss should really only be used by one person.

Looks like I missed this post, but yes I feel the same way I do not like to share lipgloss, and especially mascara. If someone grabs my mascara and applies it,forget it they can have it because I won't use it again.
And sadly I have had my makeup stolen but I do not know who did it.
I had a few expensive Chanel items,including a 50.00 dollar palette,
a brand new Mac frost pigment,a brand new Pollen e/s,and a brand new
Spice lip liner. They also stole about 10 other lipglosses from MAC, Dior, etc. To say the least I was pist. I think it was my boyfriends ex
who somehow got into his apartment. I was also missing clothes, some brand new with tags. How lame and tacky!!

By reading all this it makes me real glad that I'm getting an apartment this year for college and not a dorm!

I lived in a sorority in college and the first time a piece of my makeup went missing I got a lock for my closet. I have a good mental inventory of my makeup so I usually know when something is missing.
I also don't even like to let people touch or use my make up! I think people know better than to ask anyways!

i have never had any of my make up stolen these stories are scary to me. My make up collection has grown so much each pay check (lol)

(especially my mac ) so when you work hard for your money and invest in something so expensive the fact that people take advantage of you for it makes my blood boil

i'll be going to denver here soon they have a mac pro store there so i most def am going to drop some extra dough to get some pro items i have heard of more than 1 instances where people have brought and left there make up in their hotel/motel room and it gets stolen my husband got some brand new shoes stolen as well before on a business trip from a pretty nice hotel he was staying in. SO! i take extra precaution when i leave town i'll be taking my make up EVERYWHERE with me so i'll pack a little enough to carry in a make up bag in my purse as for the rest of my make up i'll be leaving it with a relative who never leaves the house and has no interest in my make up at all! LOL

Reading this thread has made me really sad. I must be very sheltered, but I find it so hard to believe that a good friend would do something so wrong to someone they supposedly care about! I've never had anything stolen from me, but I would hope that if my friend wanted my make up they would just ask to borrow it first before taking it!

I learned my lessons well about theft in 1st grade. I would take barrettes out of my hair and place them in my bookbag. A girl would steal them from me. When I would go complain to the teacher and pretty much freakout, the girl would "find" them again. I don't care if she was like 6 or 7, what a bitch. She was supposed to be my friend, too.

I went to school with a klepto kid too! I had one of those Bath and Body Works glitter rollers, if anyone remembers those, I think they were from the Art Stuff line and the scents were like Cherry, Grape, Lime, etc. So anyways, I brought it to school with me for fun, and someone stole it out of my backpack (we all hung our backpacks on hooks in the hallways, no lockers or anything). So I thought, well that's a bummer, and then in that same week, a girl that was in my class, I think her name was Jenna or Jamie or something with a J, and I see her with my glitter roller, only she tore the BBW label off. (I knew it was mine because on the bottom label I drew an L on it because I have sisters.) So I told my teacher she stole it from me, and she in turn told the teacher that her mom got it for her at Costco or Walmart or someplace like that. I remember I was PISSED. Because I didn't have any real proof or anything.

The weirdest thing was that when I first brought it it was damn near full, and then when I saw her with it, it was HALF EMPTY. I swear I thought she must have been covering her walls with it. I think she offered to give it back but at that point I didn't even want it back.

People who steal suck.
