I think what I'm looking for is a thread that will notify me only if there is news.

I mean, no one has a gun to their heads being forced to meet a postcount quota on this thread. Sometimes, silence is golden. Chitchat can happen anywhere.

In the interests of avoiding hypocrisy, this will be my only reply on this subject.

This is a disussion thread. Everyone is invited to chat about this collection and voice their excitement, about what they like to see in it, etc.

That's kind of annoying. Nobody wants to say it but so what if we chit chat. There's no rule against it. If somebody doesn't like it as Kristin Bacon said, there are blogs. Sure hope they don't go to the Osbournes thread..(There's pictures of puppies all over!) (When I hit submit and it updated I saw you guys read my mind!)

hahahahaha yes very very true. i was a lil confused to see someone seem so cold and cavalier. it was a strange thing to say period. No one is gonna stop chatting about whatever on here so ppl can jus find the meat. if there was any meat to be had we would def be talking about it, with chit chat here and there still as well

haha well no one would even wanna come here to post all the info they worked so hard to get then!! Its like a community, and the ppl who get and post the info worked hard to do so. maybe the ppl who dont want chit chat can start there own thread!!!!!! (crickets!!)

Chit Chat Makes things interesting during down times of collections.

I like the chit chat, I love talking with everyone. Whether it is debates, or just fun chatter.
Interacting with different people about anything and everything is what makes this forum so great.

If a peson doesn't care for chit chat. It's so simple to skim over.

Silence is sometimes golden. There are lots of posts here that aren't on topic or necessary, rather like when someone with a handful of posts takes it upon themselves to attempt to censure active members of the board (you know, the ones who actually provide the information we all enjoy) for the cardinal sin of being friendly (the very trait that triggers information sharing). I've enjoyed this board a lot more since I found the block user function.

Okay, I've gone back on my word and posted a third time, but it is to apologize.

Previously, I was just quietly frustrated, clicking on this thread every time it was updated, hoping there was news, only to find people getting offended at one another about sales experiences in different stores (?) or other unexpected tangents.

But now that I've said the wrong thing, and made a few of you come forward in defence of the way you do things, I understand that this is what makes the community work. I'm sorry I had an unfair expectation of what this forum thread was for. I recognize that it's a lot more fun to be free and talk about what you want in the lull between news cycles.

I also want to say that my feelings were hurt by the way some people reacted to what I wrote. I am not interested in censoring anyone; I was just hoping that someone could point me to a thread where the signal-to-noise ratio was closer to what I was expecting. I feel kind of misunderstood and that my sentiments were taken the wrong way. I hope I have cleared that up, in the spirit of being free to speak our minds.

For what it's worth, as much as I felt kind of bad about being misinterpreted, I feel like I learned something about what makes this forum go around, and have come around somewhat to your point of view. I hope there will be no more bad feelings.
