I feel the same way too... but I am still hoping for a shimmery, non-discoball, non- pore magnifying powder... Something different and new. I am glad to save the money if it's something I don't want, but at the same time, I want new cool stuff.

What drives me nuts too is the sound of gnats in the summer! Only one in my apartment that is flying around my ears is enough to drive me nuts and scare me!

Nothing is worse than the sound of cicadas (the link has a sound clip of their "song"). I hate it. One year I was in Annapolis for two weeks in the summer and it was during a massive hatching cycle for these fuckers. They were all over the ground, buzzing everywhere and constantly flying into shit. I had a few fly into my hair and get stuck. I guess these big breeding cycles happen like once every 15 years or something like that. Lucky me with my timing, right? lol

Ugh those sound horrible. And they're huge! At least they don't bite though. We have these in some areas: Horse-fly - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . Worst bug bite I've ever had.

I don't mind bees but I am allergic to them, so I try to stay away. But wasps can burn in hell

I'm terrified of them.

I think it's just because I didn't grow up around them. I associate them with stiffling, humid heat and I am not wired for that at all. I'm used to cool evenings (even in summer) with crickets and frogs.

They were nasty! I remember I was in a meeting on the 3rd floor of a bldg and those damn cicadas were buzzing around and throwing themselves at the windows from outside of the 3rd floor.

Ouch! This was my fave part of the wiki entry:

"The bite from a larger specimen is extremely painful, especially considering the light, agile, and airborne nature of the fly. Unlike insects which surreptitiously puncture the skin with needle-like organs, horse flies have mandibles like tiny serrated scimitars, which they use to rip and/or slice flesh apart. This causes the blood to seep out as the horsefly licks it up. They may even carve a chunk completely out of the victim, to be digested at leisure." <----MMMMMM.....leftovers. lol

Cicadas!!!!!

My experience with cicadas (a day that will live in infamy):
--I was in first grade in Northern Virginia. All I heard was that there were big bugs that were going to be around all summer long. Well! We went outside for recess. We spent the entire time dodging big crazy bugs, and praying that they would leave, for the 17 years or WHATEVER. So me and my friend were on the jungle gym/monkey bars. We forget about the cicadas for a split second; until some come after us! One landed on my buttocks, and all I remember was swiping it off in sloooooooooooooooow moooooootion
thud.gif

And then screaming and running around hysterically. I kid you not, friends. To this day I am absolutely terrified of bugs. TERRIFIED.

That gif of one crawling out of his shell is nasty! I grew up around them, but still have no use for them. I remember climbing trees at my grandma's house and finding their shells all over the place.

I used to have a cat, and he'd eat crickets. He'd eat them alive...and we'd see cricket legs hanging out of his mouth. I was happy though, because I HATE crickets

Ok where the hell have I been? I had no idea this collection consisted of l/g and e/s. That's sweet! The colors sound yummy too. Can't wait for more details but I can tell you as of right now, I think I will be on board for these.

And I too am afraid of all bugs that fly except ladybugs and even then there is a line. Those cicadas were going to be the death of me. How long ago was it? Like 5 years ago? I swear I thought I was going to have a heart attack. It's like DC got em bad too.
