Do you really need a liner under Queen Bee? How pigmented is it? Someone on MUA mentioned it was really sheer. How does it compare to Utterly Posh dazzleglass?

No, I like Queen Bee without a liner - its so pretty on the lips. I don't have UP, but I don't think its close. QB is nicely, softly, pigmented. Its the softest true light/med. peach with gorgeous subtle gold pearl. I love how it makes my lips look. I love the color on my lips so much, I'll prolly get a back up.

Alright ladies!

I finally tried out my NH items! I used all three shadows.

Pollinator imo has better payoff than Paradisco, but it's a light colour. It showed up on me though (nc20-25) and was a peachy corally colour. Texture was decent.

Buckwheat is pretty much exactly what I hoped for, a really dark brown, but since it has warm tones to it, it doesn't go on looking muddy or grey like MF or even Twinks. This and Showstopper (from the Smoke Signals quad) will be my go to dark browns. The texture was a bit on the dry side, but workable.

CDM is very similar to the highlight colour in the Lucky Tom palette (can't recall the name), kinda similar to Ricepaper, but doesn't have the frostiness of it, so I really like this. It's different than Femme Fi on me, has more yellowish gold to it.

And now for Golden Nectar... LOVE! I was so worried it'd look orangey, but it's a really pretty soft bronzey colour. I don't see this offering much colour for anyone over NC30 or so. I used a regular cheek brush, not my 188 like I would with my darker blushes.

So overall I'm happy with everything, though I should state that I don't think the eyeshadows are must haves (maybe Buckwhat for those that have issues with browns going muddy).

That is so nice of him! Seriously, my DH would just make some snarky comment about having too much make-up and lecture me again about not getting anymore!!!

Yep, me again!

So the highlight powder did go kinda orange. It actually looks a lot like Eversun.

I still like it though.

The hand cream & body wash are super tiny for the price and the scent of them didn't "wow" me either.

The MUA was telling me how much she liked Africanimal, so I tried that one first and ...
sick.gif
It was way too overpowering and very musky. It lasted forever on my skin though. I could still smell it on my arm about 8 hours later. Naked Honey, on the other hand, is a very flirty type of floral that smells a lot like honeysuckle to me. It didn't last as long as the other fragrance, but it was a lot nicer.

The salve didn't really "wow" me over either.

It didn't really make my skin feel any different than a lotion would, so I'm going to give it a test run on my lips to see how I like it. As for the eye shadows and lip glasses, they were very plain in my opinion. I'm a neutral gal and even these seemed a bit dupable.

So in the end I walked out with the following:
- Creations Hue: Naked Honey
- Naked Honey Skin Salve
- Creme De Miel e/s

Heh, I just noticed that the name of the eye shadow is actually ON the box and not a sticker ... that's new.

That's weird because the MA went on and on about how she and the other MAs LOVE africanimal. I had to confirm that it was that one she was talking about, not naked honey. But I found africanimal to smell atrocious....like i would expect to smell if I went on a solo hunting safari trip and didn't shower for days, rolled around in an animal carcas, then chased by lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

So I talked to a few MA's, and they told me in all honesty they don't like the majority of this collection. They're definitely not fond of the bath/body products, or the perfumes. They do love the salve however. The one MA compared it to a product that came out in 2001... she said it reminds her of that. I'm not really sure what product she's talking about.. I started buying MAC in 2006. Although with all of the LE collections, it seems like 8 years..lol!

So I am definitely getting the salve, buckwheat, probably creme de miel, Queen Bee (because of the queen enabler's review..lol!) and that's it.

Buzz looked gorgeous on some skintones, but I'm not sure if it would look good on me. I want to try a highlight powder, but not unless I see them in person first, so I doubt i'll get one.

I'm totally passing on everything else. I think I might get one or two of the SW makeup bags.

I LOVE the lotion! It is so moisturizing. I just wish it was in a bigger tube. I am not blown away by the actual makeup...it's cute, but meh. Definitely dupable. Africanimal to me smells better on skin-it smells better on a couple of my co-workers than it does from the bottle. I still really like Naked Honey perfume in small doses.

I spoke to the MAs at my regular counter yesterday, and I know for sure that the body products won't be brought in. I'm not sure if all the makeup products will be brought in or only the lipglasses though. Never mind about it, it's the l/g that I'm really looking forward to anyway (Queen Bee and Buzz!

If you can look at it in person, you should. I still quite like it. It gave me the same glowy effect of Eversun, but softer. I have to be extremely careful when applying Eversun or it'll go on far too strong and patchy, but GN was super easy to apply.

Would you girls use GN as a blush or to contour?? I liked it when I swatched it...but i can't figure out if it's light enough for a blush, or dark enough to contour
