I am having buyers remorse. I should. not. have. bought Solar Bits. They are impossible. I am frustrated. I can't get them to look like the MA was wearing them the day I bought them. Hopefully I can sell them, since I hate returning stuff. The eyeshadows I bought are still sitting, used 1x. Why do I buy stuff I know will just sit there? Sorry, just a little vent. I need a kick in the pants.

I've heard there is a lot of fall out, but is that the only con about Solar bits? How do you guys like Black Ore/Solar Bits in general?

Thanks!!!

I haven't used my samples yet but I swatched Bronzescape and Black Ore over Magnetic Fields and my gosh was that sexy! Can't wait to have a chance to actually wear it out, don't want to waste the precious sample! I might break down and get one but even with one I dont' know how much I'd use it.

I can relate about not wanting to return stuff, but honestly, if the product is just plain difficult to work with, return it. You are very justified in doing so. It's your hard earned money, don't waste it on something that doesn't perform well.

Awwww....didn't you just buy Evening Aura and Femme-Fi? You'll be able to use them with your teals, won't you? As far as the Solar Bits, can you go back and practice a bit with the MA?

That is true. But just last week, I returned Spaced Out blush cause it was orange on me. I don't normally return things, but lately, it seems like alot (at least for me). I mean, I don't abuse MAC's great return policy, but still... I guess if I compare what I return to the amount I buy, it really isn't so bad, but I hate jipping the MA that helped me out of her commission too. It's not her fault that the product didn't work for me, and the fact that she looses money if I return stuff bothers me. I seem to forget the fact that *I* lose money if I keep it and it goes unused.

Yes, I just got Femme Fi and Evening Aura. I won't be returning those. I just have to play with them more and find combos that I like with them. I will keep them

As far as the Solar Bits, I am going to email the MA and see if she can make some recommendations on how to get them to work for me. They looked amazing on her, which I why I bought them. I have to ask her exactly what she used to apply them. Of course, that will probably mean buying a brush that I don't have

Wow, Spaced Out was orange on you?? I actually have that problem with Hipness from the Fafi collection. I have to apply it REALLY sparingly otherwise I look like a clown. I really love Spaced Out it shows up on me as subtle shimmer with a little bit of peachyness. I am an NC30/35

Yep, orange. Very orange. And see, I have no problem with Hipness. I love it. So funny how different things look on different people.

So I just got my package and I'm a little disappointed with the Solar Bits. The jar isn't even half full.

I got Sunpower & Scatterrays and although the colors are pretty there is major glitter and lots of fallout. I'm kinda bummed.

How do you like Femme Fi compared to Shore Leave??
I'm holding off on Femme Fi I am thinking it might be similar to Ricepaper or Shore Leave

They are both very pretty and very different. Both have a great texture, being Veluxe Pearls, but Femme Fi is much more golden then Shore Leave. On me, Shore Leave is a slightly silver cream with some pink tones, and Femme Fi is cream with lots of gold. Definately different enough to own both. I am not sure exactly how it compares to Ricepaper, though.

I find shore leave to be more frosty than femme fi. Shore Leave is such a strong color I can use it on my lid alone and femme fi is more of a shimmery highlight color.

I did the same thing with Scatterrays over Evening Aura...very pretty...but just used a light finger tap of SR over the eye

Black Ore is really pretty & I agree...sexy...but just annoying to use

also, if its not too far of a trip, go back to the counter and have her show you how she did it on herself. online chat might have some great tips, but this way you can actually see/do it.

they're filled by weight, just like with the pigments. and since these are creamier, they're pretty heavy, so you won't get a full tub.

One more reason not to buy the Solar Bits. There are so many pigments being released this year that I will def. pass them.
But I am really sorry that you are not convinced with what you have bought
ssad.gif
And it is a pity that Spaced Out doesn't work for you! But it is also my rule just to buy products I can really use
yes.gif

Wait for Cool Heat and you will be convinced again!

I am NC 25 with my tan at the moment, so I hope it will work for me, too!

Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

so this weekend i went back to the store to check out pink grapefruit and the vae. pink grapefruit looks like orange frost on my lips. i have no idea how everyone else is pulling it off. it looks gorgeous on jilliandanica, i’m absolutely jealous.

the volcanic ash exfoliator rocks. the 1st thing i noticed when i opened the box was "b2m" printed on the tab, a pleasant surprise. i guess i prob. would have expected that if i regularly bought mac face products. the scrub smells divine, kinda like burnt sugar. it left my skin smooth and silky. i'm really looking forward to using this in the future (the next week or so) to see if i get more improvements, then i may go back and stock up. even the mua was raving about it. she said that she had used it on her face & feet and had fab results.
