Mac guy- thank you so much for your info! I want all the paint pots except the bottom two! The blue looks amazing- like it almost has a teal hue. Did you notice if one of the blues or purples had a duochrome effect (someone else mentioned that one pp was a duochrome)

Not really, but I swatched them lightly (as that's how I would wear them). If there is duochrome, it certainly gets lost when swatched lightly.

Thanx a lot MAC GUY for swatches.. I was thinking about skipping the 2 lighter mattenes but your swatches are making me reconsider my decision. I range from NC 35 to NC 44 ( yes I get tanned very easily) & tried to refrain from lippies for whom I have to take li'l extra efforts to make them work.. What do you think will naked bliss & delectable work on me?? ( I am around NC 40 at the moment)

Genuine Treasure bums me out. I hated those Cham Pale p/p's with a passion, so I will have to skip this. It sucks because I was set on getting it. I'm just going to wait and see what happens as the swatches (hopefully) roll in.

I wish I could give you a better answer, but it's hard for me to say. I think a lot of lighter lippies can look tacky on darker beauties, but it all depends on how well you can pull it off. They go on very smoothly and do not bulge at all. They definitely look more natural than a shiny gloss or lippie, so my guess is that you can both wear them, but probably Delectable works better with your complexion. I hope this helps.

Mac-Guy, the swatches of the purple paint pots are looking reaaalllly warm in those pics...like they are way more red based than blue. Would you say this is true in real life?

Thanks!

Those of you who like antique gold, the n/p is to die for. It's a true antique gold and the blue one will look awesome in combination with Potent Fig.
oh please do not get me lusting after a polish! i love antique gold but mac polishes never end well on me!

the paint pots are nice and pigmented but I don't feel I need any more coloured eyeshadow bases. Though I also don't need any more lipsticks and I still want to get most of the Mattenes :p

MAC-Guy: thank u for ur great swatches :) which 3 of the mattenes would u pick for a NW22 ish skintone, burgundy hair colour? In theory I want them all but I'm limiting myself to 3

still don't know what to take.... the mattene I want is delectable! half wild for sure.... and I still wait more swatches of imaginary and pure creation... I like gold such as genuine tresure but maybe it's too sparkling for my tastes

Thank you Mac-Guy!!

I cannot decide which mattenes to get. I must say I'm disappointed in the colour range they offer here, I feel some of them are so similar to each other.

I for one didn't care for the Cham Pale p/p enough to buy one, only because there wasn't enough of glitter. Yes, I wanted more. Now I could appreciate one with only subtle glitter and shimmer too, but I still admire full on drag-glitter-looks the most. I might give Genuine Treasure a chance, I love the colour so let's see how the texture goes. Hell, I'll take anything with even slight glitter, I'm so desperate for a sparkle bling bling happy joy joy.

Yes, it makes sense and I agree with you. I don't see a need to test drive a product for a few days just because it's a new color and not a new formula. When it is something new, she always states how long she wore the product. I love her blog. I think she does a wonderful job reviewing different products from different brands. Her swatches are great. I love the fact that I can look at one of her swatches and know what will or will not work on me. I don't think I have ever saw a swatch on her blog, purchased the item thinking it would work for me only to then find that it didn't. I believe she will always be honest about a product with little regard to who makes the product, and I trust her opinion.

You might want to check out Idyllic and Treasure Hunt then, but skip GT.

I personally think the problem is that it's her opinion but people take it as gospel. If she says something isnt great or rates it badly then the product mightn't sell well because she has such a large following. Her rating are always going to reflect her personal taste because it's her personal blog so she will favour high end European brands and strong pigmentation because that's what she likes I look at her blog because there are great swatches but I wouldn't not buy something because it has a low rating I think people need to pick the items they want based on their personal taste and not because a blog says it's good or bad...and I think that's the problem...deciding not to buy something because someone else may have tested it once and didn't like it or play around with it

IMO, visually, a matte l/s can be more in-your-face than a shiny one, especially as we are not really used to matte lippies anymore. L/s are one of those products that can instantly change the look of your face - much more than an e/s - so even if the color range is not massive, I feel MAC did a great job. I agree with you that two or three shades are rather close, but for those who love mattenes, it will then be easier to purchase all instead of buying BU's of individual shades. The mattenes will look great with sparkly eyes, thus I am really looking forward to G&I in October.

Those of you who like lip stains, mattenes work great to give you a stained lip that lasts a very long time.

I think I read somewhere that this is launching in Europe on the 8th of October but that's a Saturday so maybe it's actually launching on the 6th which is a Thursday. Can anybody shed any light?

Guys, I think you read a bit too much into my critique. I was referring to any blogger who swatches large collections in a day (or less) or give grades (which a lot of the bloggers do), but I did not limit my critique to the particular blog you are talking about. I really want to distance myself from this idea.

If you like a particular blog, I'm very happy for you that you found the source that works best for you. For my part, I try to get as much information as possible from a variety of sources. I also hope that nobody is buying a product just because I - Mac-Guy - likes it. Now, if you have a similar taste or just like my posts, feel free to join my Lush-Light-Bronze-Goldstone-Seeds-of-Desire-and-a-hint-of-Lightscapade fan club.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

Heehee! My first 2 were Indianwood and Delft and I don't quite remember how I wore Indianwood but I'm pretty sure I wore Delft alone as a shadow. They're great and I can't wait for these new ones! Can't wait! They look so vibrant! Which ones did you get from Fafi? I only got Nice Vice and Rollickin.
The first ones I got were Indianwood and Greenstroke. Delft was pretty and I don't remember why I didn't pick it up. I got Rollickin' and Cash Flow from the Fafi collection. I'm still kicking myself for not getting the ones from the Alexander McQueen collection.

From the swatches I've seen so far I am definitely not feeling the mattenes. The colors aren't grabbing me.
