Boo. Still, a FS is better than nothing. I can't believe we don't have one yet-- they are way behind demand.

edmonton has its free standing store in west ed.
i have driven there for my MAC goodies, but often they don't have th PRO items i am looking for. either way it would be nice to have a Pro store in the province.
if it is in calgary, that will be nice.
and if there is a sephora here, i will just go broke!

I have confirmation from my MA's that it isn't a PRO store
She said that there is no way in hell Alberta would get a PRO store because most of the prodcuts are prodcuts used on movie sets, there is no demand for this. They do have those nice pigments and some other items that regular people buy but most of the prodcut you HAVE to have a pro card to be able to purchase it. Thus, Calgary is getting a FS store.

its freestanding. and its going to be over by zellers in chinook, at least thats the rumor. but they have been saying we were getting a freestanding for almost 3 years.
PS: a pro card is not needed to purchase pro products. anyone can buy any mac item including the pro product.
as far as edmonton getting the pro store.. Calgary makes more sense. I still think its silly that Edmonton got a freestanding store first. Calgary is bigger. We have more stuff. People spend more money. MAC at chinook does $12 000 alone in one day sometimes...... I work the at the bay and I see the sales sheet. There are 4 counters in calgary vs 2 in Edmonton and now the FS store. Calgary does way more volume. Calgary also has a booming fashion and movie industry.

I have a few friends who work at MAC in Calgary and they've been told it's a free-standing store...not pro...in any case, I still am hoping that they are wrong and you are right as I would LOVE to travel 3 hours to get to a pro store...who knows, maybe it is...we do have the largest mall, but MAC in Calgary is super popular...there are way more counters there because the demand is so high, so I wouldn't be suprised...also, we DO already have a free-standing store...I'm happy for Calgary, they totally deserve an actual store.

i wish we could get a pro store....edmonton is so behind i can't stand it at times
and everything i want now is all pro product i am sick of the regular stuff
man i wish cowtown had gotten a pro i would have driven i don't care where the pro store would of been ed or cal just one would have made me happy

I just realized that I don't really care if we get a Pro vs Freestanding store, as long as we get one or the other. I know most will disagree, but I'm not really all that interested in most Pro items; I just want the palettes and pan form shadows.
