found it! i know its red but i was wondering if it was a blackened red or not. its a true red i guess. liba if you had to compare it to a lipstick, which one would that be? of course it doesnt have to be exact.

Hautecore is the black lipstick. It's described in the book as black, not blackened purple or purple black or anything. Swatched on paper, it's 100% neutral black, no undertones period. My assumption is there is a bit of purple pigment in the mix that you can see with a camera flash and once you put it on your lips, perhaps it will pull a little towards your own lip color. Swatches on a hand would be between paper and lip.

If you know you don't want black, but are ok with dark purple, 'better wait for more descriptions and pictures, because personally, from what I saw, I think you'll be getting black and will have to use lip pencils if you want to bring out the purple in it.

Thanks for the clarification, Liba. I was planning on lining with black, anyway, so it shouldn't pull purple on me. I've just been looking for a nice matte black for months and haven't had much luck, so this honestly excites me even more than the purples.

Also, I wonder how Jet Boy would look ever Firm Form? Too much? It seems like it could work as a fun New Years look.

it seems like Mac finally listened to us and gave us what we've been asking for all year and then some. I'm now on my bed curled up in fetal position still finding it hard to believe that this collection is really this awesome...I'm out of words...lol

Gotta remember, a lot of purple and red lipsticks look different in the tube than on the lips. I'd say Instigator looks the most the same in the flash photos compared to the swatch I saw, but more vibrant in the swatch. The one that looks very blue is a bit less blue in the swatch - it's grape like Grape Ape from the cartoon:

If I had to compare the red lipstick to one that's come out before, I would say it'd be a little bit like Charmed I'm Sure mixed with Deeply Adored, except with a more modern pizazz like Ruffian Red, not so retro like the Marilyn reds. It just looked seriously punk rock and intense. I wish I could put my finger on it better. My feeling was it was going to pull darker on the lips than on paper, but I don't think it will go darker than Deeply Adored.

I'm looking forward to Beautezine's photos when that day comes, because she really did a great job getting accurate colors from her Divine Nights samples and those products were NOT the type that would be easy to photograph!!!!! Beautezine - I already said it, but I'll say it again "Much Respect!"
