i'm sad because my warmth of coral blush arrives smashed today! luckily mac are going to re-send it to me! :) in the meantime i shall try and use some of the broken bits! lol!

Show me the sparkles! - todays specktra blog post.

Oh no. Mineralize products are really fragile. I'm glad they will send you a replacement. And with the smashed one, you can create your very own WoC piggie and fill it into a jar.

It seems fairly pigmented, though less pigmented than Goldstone. If you have pink undertones (NW15 - 25), this will nicely blend in with your complexion. With NC skin tones, I image it to give a nice pop of color without being overly pink. I was still holding back as the green veining was off-putting, making it unsuitable (for me) to wear all over the face as it was fairly dominant - glitter-wise, not in terms of adding any color. I eventually found one that had not only little green in the inner circle, but also a smallish inner circle if I compared it to the other ones. The upper third of the inner circle is a white goldish color that give more shimmer rather than glitter, then there is a dividing green (evil!!) vein - still larger than I want it but small enough that I can deal with it, and the lower third is a very beautiful soft pink that reminds me of Give me Liberty e/s though it's more shimmery; there is also a tiny dot of bronze. The outer circle is large enough to allow the 128 to pick up enough color without even touching the inner circle - if that's what I want. However, as the inner circle is relatively small, I will be fine using the 179 to swirl without adding any glitter or too much shimmer. Again, I am glad that I took the time to hand-select RQ - or shall I say that I am fortunate enough to live within 15 min of several MAC stores; if not, I would have been disappointed with this product. Mind you, if you like shimmer and glitter, you might be happier with a thick green vein (or several of them). This is just my personal preference.

Hi, do you think tht the 179 is good to have if you do not use MSF? I was wondering about it to use after all my other face applications, foundation, powder, blush, highlighter and such. I was wondering if it would give a smoother blended look than say the avg rounded kubuki, which mine is just average. A lot of times after I apply all my stuff I take my 187 and dip in a bit of P&P powder and just go lightly over my face and blend my cheeks a bit around the blush, contour and highlighter.

I hope that made sense. It did in my head anyway.

The blushes did not wow me, and I ended up with only PA. It is much lighter than I anticipated the brown. It is really more of a light brown with swirls of beige and rose in it. It is neither too warm nor too cool-toned, but if you have already found a nice contouring color, it is by no means a must-have product. On the cheeks, applied with the 128, it looks very natural on me, although the lack of any pink or red in it can certainly give the illusion of a "dirty" look rather than a healthy rosy glow. By all means, I can really pull off "dirty" look in a sort of edgy way. I assume that it might look too brown if you are not used to these kind of colors or are afraid of thinking out of the box - not that you have to - but it's certainly a different look for those who usually tend to go for coral or pink blushes. As I have some natural warmth to my cheeks ("just a pinch"), PA works very well on me without looking overly "dirty." For me, it will work best in combination with SP Goldstone. With my NW 20 skin, I would not be able to pull it off without wearing a bronzer.

I skipped on Feeling Flush and Warmth of Coral. FF is nicely pigmented, probably the most pigmented of all three of them, but neither the swirly color not the swatch wowed me enough to have an impulse purchase. IMO, it is easily dupable with any perm color or any previous LE blush. The color of FF looks slightly out of balance in comparison to the rest of the collection, but swatched, it looks rather natural and the name does it justice. Otherwise, it was just too ordinary to purchase. If the color is nothing special, I want at least a nice design and all the blushes lack in that department. Even more so, I found WoC rather plain. Nice - yes, a must-have - no. If you have coral blushes in your stash, you can easily pass on WoC. Of course, if you must have it, by all means, go for it.

Yes, you can sheer out the glitter, but then you also sheer out the pink as well and eventually end up with just a shimmer rather than a pinkish color. It's just my personal experience with MSF. If they are less pigmented (and the RQ is not the most pigmented), then I don't want a lot of glitter as the sheen that's left after buffing will blend out the pink (or whatever color) pigment too much.

I'm glad you like your RQ too. I think it's beautiful that each product is slightly different allowing each customer to pick and chose according to their preference. Did you pick yours or did you order it online?
Yeah, I see your point. I'm using my RQ as a blush, and find I don't end up with any glitter just a nice pink flush when using the 129 to apply. I find it easier to swirl the brush from the edge to the centre to get a nice pink flush.

I ordered all mine online as my nearest counter is two hours away meaning a 4 hour round trip which I can't make to often, and I have to say with the MSF and MESes I got extremely lucky. I am contemplating going back for Crystal Pink and that lovely blush brush! How did you find Crystal Pink? Did you see it in store?

Got my goodies.

Sadly, GOR isn't that close to Mehr but is still quite lovely on! I'm really liking Faux Gold - I was told that is what she is wearing in the promo pic.

Yep, if you don't like glitter - you have to stay away from the center puddle

I went to my counter today and I ended up with MSF's in Rose Quartz, Crystal Pink, and Pearl. I caved and bought Rare Find too. It was just so pretty once I got there, it has so many beautiful colors in it. I'm thinking about Hint of Sapphire too. It looked so gorgeous with Rare Find. I love everything!

I bought the 179 specifically for MSF application. Obviously, I haven't tried it extensively yet, but I am sure that I will keep using my 187 for loose setting powders and bronzers. I don't think that the angle (which is really minimal) does much to the actual finish. It is a rather soft brush, softer than my 182 and 183. I am mainly intrigued by the split sides, which I will use - as described above - to spritz with Fix+ on the darker side for highlighting . If you go all over your face, I didn't notice any difference and could not make out that there are two brush sides. If you plan on using MSF on a regular basis, I would say try it out first to see if it's worth your money; if you don't have a kabuki brush yet, get the 182; if you are a kabuki addict, order two of them

Personally, I would not use the 179 after I applied foundation. The brush is too dense and will wipe off your foundation. But that's just my opinion. I suggest you try it out in store.

I ordered from Debenhams on Monday evening & got an email Tuesday to say my order had been despatched. Like a couple of other people, I then got another email last night saying it was 'processing', and no parcel yet :( I only ordered from Debenhams to get the points & I've never had a problem with them before... boo.

Thank you, I will skip that one then. I ordered the other three brushes and I did go ahead and order WOC blush, hopefully I will be pleased with it. I want to see the mes in person to look at the veining and choose.

[/quote] I got the 179 and used it to apply foundation. It gave slightly more coverage than my kabuki. It's a lovely brush but if you were trying to narrow your list I wouldn't consider it a must have. The mua pointed out that some might find it more suitable for liquid or cream foundations than a standard kabuki cause synthetic hair suits liquids/creams. I like it but if you wanted something a bit different for foundation the cheek brush in this collection is fab

My thoughts on SP Crystal Pink: This MSF is the most glittery one, giving an almost metallic pink finish that on my NW 20 skin looked rather artificial. It reminded me strongly of the Mineralize Sheersheen powder in Lucent, which I use as a highlighter, but Lucent is more subtle. For an all over face application, you need some courage to pull it off during the day-time and/or apply it with an ultra-light hand, in which case it defeats the purpose of CP. I found it to be much more glittery than RQ, which is further emphasized by the metallic sheen. It can certainly be used as a highlighter, but there are probably better, more appropriate, and less expensive highlighters (including other MSF) out there that give you a similar, but not as metallic-dramatic effect. To me, it looks more like a runway finish or what you would see in a high fashion editorial rather than what you would wear on the street (and I am rather open-minded about bright and shiny colors). The metallic part seems to be mostly the outer circle, so if you are just interested in the glittery part, you could only use the inner circle if you pick one that has a relatively large nipple. Again, if you are just using one part of the product, it probably defeats the whole purpose of this MSF. If you apply it lightly, it might help you to achieve a winter-fairytale look if you are very pale (think of the Sugarplum fairy in Nutcracker). I am sure there are certain people who can pull it off and it will look stunning, but it was not to my liking.

I got Summer Shower too, it's surprisingly wearable. :)

Plus you have a free B2M empty as well as the broken blush. ;)

I once received a smashed Bobbi Brown eyeshadow and got a replacement without having to return the broken one, I was well impressed with their CS.
