Liba, out these three, which one would you choose if you vould only choose one?
Unsurpassable, Clarity and Smoked ruby.

I dont have a similar colour to smoked ruby, thats why i also included that but fyrinnae's monarch butterfly might be a dupe.

I am interested in Smoked Ruby, but if its similar to SOY & CS (peacocky collection) then I can skip that MES.

Hmmmm maybe I should skip ALL the MES, MSF , MB, lipsticks & just get ALL the brushes & two Cremesheen lipgloss . ..

I suggest that you browse through the various WOC threads on this forum. There is a wealth of information on Specktra. Happy reading.

Yeah, I just purchased (a back up of) Marine Life at a reasonable price, which definitely means I don't need another coral blush.

Good bye, Warmth of Coral.

I've just been looking at my blushes and MSFs, and have pretty much convinced myself I don't need any from SP. I just need to narrow down my list of the MES I want from this collection now, especially since Fashion Flower is also coming up and there are a few things I want from that

If I could only pick one, I'd pick a pan of Clarity without a lot of black veins, but then again, I love sheer colors and opalescent sparkles and Clarity is a dream come true for me for something like that!

If you have green eyes, Smoked Ruby would look gorgeous and would be easier to use than either of the other colors. If you love color and variety and don't mind having to fuss to bring out color intensity and are always looking for complex and flattering greens, Unsurpassable is beautiful.

Seriously, your best bet is to check these out in person - they're not super easy, hassle-free products compared to standard powder shadows. I loooooove mineralized shadows and blushes for the same reasons some people hate them (that they're sheer and subdued when dry, for example, often have glitter, and that the colors tend to be smudgey, not sharp and clear) and I've got to be up front about that!

Liba, I think you bring it nicely to the point: you either hate or love mineralized products. As they often require a different application technique - and more time - they are not for the faint of heart, unless you plan on buying them for their "pan beautiness," which is indeed a selling point that should not be neglected. This is also one of the reasons, IMO, why many of the reviews/swatches will look slightly (or completely) different as each reviewer adopts a different technique.

Liba you are so awesome! You are helping out TONS on deciding what mes to get! I also love how they are sheerer when dry. Its great for blending colors. And then get them wet and they take on a whole new life! I am very excited about these shadows. I was on and off about hint of sapphire, but the more I see it the more I love it. I think it will look awesome with purples and Perisian Skies es from BO. I'm also falling in love with Rare Find. It looks like a purple-tinged grey to me...SCORE! Im starting to like Clarity but it seems like its really glittery in the shades of you swatches. Golden Gaze is a no brainer

Rare Find is one of the least veined of the ones that have veins and also has fewer contrasting colors. It's still a MES, so you won't get the exact same look as a regular shadow - it'll be multidimensional from the texture + the color, not just from just the color itself, imo.

[/quote] You are a wealth of knowledge liba. Thank you for your response. Do you think mineral mode is similar to family silver mes from a previous collection? I thought mm was a pale pink but alot of swatches look beige. If that is the case I might get clarity if I can get one without alot of black!

Boy I have had such a hard time coming up with a list. There are so many products I can't keep the names straight. This is my first list. I originally wanted everything but I have been able to knock a few things off my list. I still have some work to do but here goes.

My list:

  • I still want all the brushes even though I'm not sure how to use them.
  • Gem of Roses Lipstick
  • Lush Amber Lipstick
  • One of a Kind lipstick
  • Geo Pink lipglass
  • Natural Flare lipglass
  • Semi Precious Pearl MSF
  • Clarity MES
  • Golden Glaze MES
  • Unsurpassable MES

I'm still undecided on Smoked Ruby, Jade's Fortune, Dark Indulgence MES. I'm still wondering if Mineral Mode is close to Prance. It doesn't look like it in the swatches I've seen. I'm skipping the blushes.
