MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

how fast would one expect Petticoat to sell out?

because I can't get to a counter anytime soon (car is in the shop for TWO WEEKS) and I'm afraid of going against my rule and ordering online, so I'm hoping to buy some time and not buy it online the day it comes out

actually, I was more concerned about not getting these MSFs than my broken car

I think that you will be ok. I assume that MAC made quite a few of these since they know it is a highly sought after MSF. Plus when MAC has re-released MSFs in the past they have not sold out as fast as you would think or at all. Your car is more important. Plus this will be released all over so even if it is sold out online you should be able to find a counter that has it.

I'm getting Petticoat today! Or later this week, haha. And then I'll be able to try on So Ceylon too.

Thanks! Any pictures of that displayer? I hope this will come to my MAC store and counters! So far, only the mineralize displayer is up.

This collection, and the mineral display is going to be available online tomorrow, correct?

Which MSF's would you say are best suited for light skin tones? I know I want Petticoat for sure, any others?

I suspect Soft & Gentle will be rather pretty as well. Though, honestly, I think light skin tones can find a way to work with any MSF.

I can't wait to get the uncooked meat, aka Petticoat! I also want Gold Deposit, Soft & Gentle, and So Ceylon!

I'm getting Sheerbronze for gratis. The Sheersheen powders are so weird. They're really pretty but they don't blend into the skin as evenly as a baked Mineralize Skinfinish and not nearly as much as the loose pearlizers, loose iridescents, or loose beauty powders. They apply frosty and shimmery, not glowy or shiny like I hoped. And sort of blotchy... like when you apply a Mineralize Eyeshadow dry. Like Love Connection or Family Silver, sort of blotchy uneven shimmery. And I don't appreciate that two of the colors are so white and light. Those definitely wouldn't work well on a deep complexion, not without really blending them into other things and working at it to make it work.

we also get soft and gentle for gratis i think. i'm getting silver aura. i plan on using it as a brow/inner eye highlight. lucent's too pink for me, and i don't wear enough bronzes to get sheerbronze.

i agree with you on the texture tho. they definately need buffed into the skin.

I have the original Gold Deposit and it's pretty damn shimmery, like how Shimpagne was but darker. Not glittery though just shimmery. I'm NW20 and it's a nice bronzer for me but I have to use it with my 187 or it's just too shiny & pigmented for me, but with the 187 it's lovely.

I noticed on Nordstrom.com the Sheer Minerals collection was up but only the natural ones are up today. I don't see the MSFs!

Those are the ones that they have up all the time! It isn't part of the new collections that are due out any day now...

Thanks

I'm lighter than NW15 and I think you could wear Soft and Gentle and Petticoat

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks so! I had really high hopes for these but they've been disappointing. I've got Silver Aura and Lucent, and to be frank I'm struggling to make them work. I don't hate them but kinda wish I hadn't bought two as they're quite messy not easy to apply.

I have to second what Nadiya said.

I mean, really, you could find a way to make any of them work, but I'd go with Petticoat and Soft and Gentle for sure.

What brush are you using to apply Petticoat?
And I heard a lot of good things about the 109. Would that be a good brush to apply it.
I have to admit Petticoat still sits boxed in its MAC bag.

I use the 188 or a 181 like brush. These are perfect for MSFs I think.
