MAC snobbery?

I just don't give make-up as a gift because it's such a personal thing.

The exception is my mother, just because she's a new MAC covert and really adores the line. That and I know her colours to a T.

That's exactly how I am.. I know my mom's colors so I can easily give it.

I must sound like a scrooge or something but I don't give MAC makeup as gifts to people. Firstly its because as an addict, knowing how much I had to work to save something and how much it costs, it'd kill me to give to a friend and find that they don't appreciate it/use it like I'd expect them to. I don't really give makeup as gifts anyway because like others have said it is really personal. I can't assume that just because I like a colour and its LE my friend will automatically like it just the same. Plus it'd feel as if I was trying to send subconscious signals to the friend to change their makeup or something.

I've been wanting to slowly show my friends & family the awesome ways of MAC, so i started to buy them little things here and there. But was mildly crushed when i saw the way my friend treated the 2 TLC's i got her, just gross. I thought she would take care of them more cuz shes always ragging on me about how much it is, but i guess not. So i'll just keep my hobby to myself and let anyone in who wants in. Even though i think it would be so much fun to have a makeup buddy to shop with.
