MAC So Reel / Reel Sexy discussion

WMS is a beautiful color and very versatile, since it can look much pinker if you wear it as a stain, or much more coral if you give it a good thick coat (I'm NC15 with red lips). If you have Force of Love, you could maybe skip it, unless FoL is way too bright for your taste - WMS is a bit more muted.
I'd say WMS is kind of like FoL mixed with Hibiscus, or a more springtime Toxic Tale. It's definitely a great color for NC15, although I'd say it'll be better if your hair is black, auburn or platinum blonde, rather than medium brown or orangey red-head.

I'm orangey redhead and I think WMS-like coral is a perfect colour for me (I'm NC too).

I decided to skip the lippies in this one and ordered an OCC lip tar from their new collection. I ordered Digitalis (pink tinged lavender). I may go back for Bella Donna (described as ultra ultraviolet). I've never had a lip tar before and want to try the formula first.

Yayyy I pre-ordered my Pink Popcorn today at the Nordstrom counter. Whew! I got to swatch it, too and it is sooo gorgeous. Definitely prettier than Budding Love (but that still gets my vote, too).

I swatched all the cremesheen glasses and none of them really jumped out at me. Colour Saturation is similar to Double Dare but very, very different (if that makes sense, lol). Double Dare definitely has red in it, while Colour Saturation is a coral pink/orange. I kind of deduced that while I like the csg formula better, I already own FoL lipglass and so that will have to suffice.

Reel Sexy showed up as a bright florescent highlighter orange on my arm when I swatched it. It was so super pretty but given how light it is and without any pink, it is not suited for me to wear.

Heroine is also a skip for me. It was pretty bold, and while I love bright lips there was something about it that made me skip it. Oh well, I will show my love to my other purple lippie lovelies

I'll only be getting Watch me simmer & Pink Cult from this collection. i thought about Pink popcorn but a MA friend said that the lavender in it made her asian friends look like cheap porn stars... not the look I would aim for ><"

I have Budding Love -- do I need Pink Popcorn too?

I didn't swatch them side-by-side, but I feel that Pink Popcorn is definitely a great lipstick. It has a pink/purple duochrome lustre finish that is so super pretty. I prefer it because it has more pink in it. I do like Budding Love though, too, because it's sheer enough to let my pigmented lips shine through, so it makes a dark plum berry color on me with a slight hint of purple. I have yet to try on Pink Popcorn, but by swatch alone, I fell in love lol.

Ok, so, I only thought I was going to get heroine and magenta blush but when I went to the pro store I pre-ordered those two plus three creamsheen glasses and the silver, blue and purple eye kohls and pink popcorn becauae it totally swatched and looked different than I thought it would.

You have me curious about Pink Popcorn again lol. Anything else you can compare it too besides BL? Since its a luster, how opaque is it?

I went through my stash and found Hyacinth & Heirloom eye kohls! Hyacinth is more blue in person, and heirloom has a bit more purple to it than in these swatches.

So far, Pink Popcorn looks a lot like Blooming Lovely in the tube. 'Probably will look pretty different on the lips, I bet. I'm definitely going to bring my tube in with me to compare, along with Jazzed to compare with Reel Sexy.

Meanwhile, Heroine is so gorgeous - I've been waiting for that color in a matte for a very very long time. If it was even bluer, I'd be happy. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before MAC brings us a matte Go For It with extra blue in it, but for now, I will rock Heroine in a big way.

i hope they are very similar because i really loved my blooming lovely!

Hm, I don't think I can think of another comparison in lipsticks, or at least nothing that I own that is similar. Fresh Amour is another pale purple shade that I have, but that one is definitely a whitened purple. Pink Popcorn seemed surprisingly opaque (but not fully opaque of course) even for a lustre, I feel it is more opaque than Budding Love, though. I just loved the look of Pink Popcorn on my hand, so it made me really excited! It appeared to be a good mix of both purple and pink, and the way it catches the light with the lustre finish is just gorgeous

it's kind of like Violetta in a way, it seems like it has a metallic shimmery type aspect that gives adds a great deal of depth of color and changes in the light. If that makes sense?? lol

lol well I'm liking that its pretty opaque, I have pigmented lips so the more color the better and I'm hoping the pink in it pulls it to a neutral warm zone.
