MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

Alright, still have a bit of catching up to do in this thread, but I'm still very sad that I have to wait until 1/2 for my little black box! Especially since the MAC store by me still has all of the Strength lippies and all of the AC lippies too (except HC, but I ordered that online, so I'm good!). Not really sure why UPS isn't delivering before 1/2. Are New Year's Eve and New Year's Day considered federal holidays or something? The tracking says it's at my local UPS right now, just sitting there...but I have to wait another 4 days to have it delivered. Lame.

Loving how the lippies are looking on everyone! So glad I ordered SW...and that I got PaPa when it originally came out

Yes CO...your goods are delayed because of the holiday, although there are some deliverers on NYE. I placed online orders and the merchants posted delivery delay notices DT the holidays, and in some areas the weather, as well.

Has anyone NC40 or darker tried Poised?? I am wondering if it will show up on me...forgot to swatch them in the store when I went..

Yes! I'm exactly an NC40 right now, and I love Poised. It shows up like a rosy brown on my skin, and it looks really lovely and natural when blended out. Here's a picture (I apologize for the low quality. I don't have anything fancier than an iPhone right now):




Heavy swatch on the left and blended out on the right. Hope this helps!

Sculpt the best cool-toned taupe contour shade


I like Bone Beige for daytime, Sculpt for a more dramatic day or evening, and Shadowy for a dramatic contour.

But of course - I AGREE with you!

Taupe Shape is much more cool toned, it doesn't have the warm undertones of Pressed Amber. It will probably not show up on skintones darker than NC35, if it does, it will look very shimmery. I can't remember who said it but it looked ashy on her skin.

I totally agree. TS is much cooler. I'm not sure why T compared TS somehow to Equilibrium or Pressed Amber. :loco: They don't look anything alike as they are not in the same color family. At all! TS is cool-toned and E and PA are rather warm.

I really enjoy equilibrium and pressed amber a lot,but If TS is nothing like them a definite skip.thanks

You could always do a neutral bronze smokey eye and add some gold shimmer or gold glitter on top (Gilt by Association, or the MAC Pro Gold Glitter)...I was thinking of doing this for NYE as well! This look looks especially well with a red lip or any other bright lip

It was a bit shocking to me to see how much darker this lipstick looks in the tube then when applied on the lips..

Thank you for taking out the time for the great photos! I don't follow Chanel closely enough to know what their patterns for bringing back products like these are, but I'm sorry I missed out. I can't bring myself to pay the ebay prices, good lord. I don't think anyone who bought one will get sick of it too fast.

liba, my Neiman Marcus still has quite a few Chanel Notorious in stock if you're looking for it.

LOL I used the lip balm nice and simple. But I'm sure any sheer gold color will do the same trick.

I'll try 'Be Nice' or 'Satin Slip, both from the holiday collections. I'll no better when my Warm Companion arrives.

NC44 here--saw this post and decided to do a full 'at home face.' IT IS LOVELY! I applied it over a BB Cream after contouring w/Coffee Walnut. I applied it w/a 128 brush and I love the look---I call that look, 'MY Natural'. I'm totally happy with it. I wore Glamour Daze lipstick to finish the look. Now I think I'll have some hot mulled cider and watch the snow fall.
I hope you're as happy with it as I am.

My freestanding store called me this morning, having set aside some lippies for me. While I was there I picked up the blushes, too. So if anyone needs CPs, let me know.

I have the following: Pink Pigeon (2), Party Parrot (3), Absolute Power (2), Strong Woman (1 available now; 1 more coming in standard delivery order next week, along with 2 Firm Form), Taupe Shape (2) and Poised (2).

Edited: Now have 1 each of Taupe Shape and Poised blushes.

Edited: now have one Poised blush, 2 Pink Pigeon, 3 2 Party Parrot, 1 Absolute Power; won't have Strong Woman (1) and Firm Form (2) until Thu/Fri.

Absolute Power is the only thing from AC and Strength that I am still on the fence about and this picture doesn't help. It looks so beautiful on you --- I don't have gorgeous full lips like you but I may break down and try it.
