I love mine better than my CR Desert too - the quality of the shadows in the Desert quad is a bit better: richer and creamier, but the colors in All Woman are much more unique. Like I was saying before, these shades are really perfect for people whose skin tone usually doesn't let them wear coolish colors like these very well.

I am very pleased with my All Woman quad! When I got my order, it was the first thing I opened up and rushed to try out! Usually grey's look too blue and are tricky on me but I made a really nice every day look. Aradhana gave a nice example of how to wear the quad and I am loving it! I am so glad I let some of you enable me with the quad purchase

I still haven't tried calling mac up to see if the desert quad is available (it's S.O on mac Canada) and to be honest I don't know
if I will or not. Perhaps saving my money for new stuff would be better!

I spent more than I expected between Strength and Après Chic!

Finally caught up with this thread too. I already received Absolute Power and Strong Woman. I'm wearing AP over Cherry l/l right now and I love it! It's brighter than Charmed I'm Sure and bluer based than Russian Red. I haven't tried Strong Woman yet, but compared it in the tube to Heroine and it's different enough yay! Like Liba said it's more muted and redder. I'm not exactly sure how to discribe it, but I'm sure I will love it:)
I can't wait for my other package with All Woman, the blushes, Firm Form and my 2nd BU's of PaPa and PiPi. I also wanted to mention that while PiPi is more dupable I love it! I like it better than Quick Sizzle and CYY I think. Those two I love as well, but if I had to chose it would be PiPi. I think it looks the best with my skintone out of the three.

Yikes! Won't they already have gone off by the time you actually get round to using them?

But hey, what do I know? I don't think I've ever finished a lippy

. How long does an unopened lippy live anyway?

I'm not so afraid about that. I have a chromaline that's 3 years old and it still works perfectly fine, doesn't smell bad, texture is the same etc. It is a good thing that the 2nd BU's are newer though. I'll make sure to have those separate and use the BU's I already had first.

MAC lipsticks don't have a shelf life. Technically they go bad either. After many years they do tend to get a different smell and taste, but they aren't really expired. It's just not as pleasant to wear em with the difference in odor/taste. The products to be more questioned about going bad liquid/cream products. Powders don't go bad either.

Has anyone noticed a white/grayish coating on older lipsticks, almost like they are dusty? They smell fine but just look kind of weird.

Yeah. I just sold sold some lipsticks like that. It happens to non-airtight cream products. Lipsticks and eye kohls especially. Not sure exactly what it is, but it's not dust or anything dirty. It's completely safe to use.

I told her to keep them full, but to me she still took too much off. I should have just said a clean up instead of a shape up. They look good, but I'm loving the full brow look.
I had to stop going to get my eyebrows waxed, because they never would just clean them up...I would leave with them considerably thinner than when I came in. I learned how to wax them myself, so I was able to grow them in pretty quickly. I get Anastasia brow wax kit from Sephora, and I absolutely love it!

What are lip liner suggestions for Firm Form? I am going out Wednesday night and I was thinking about wearing it...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! Very useful info

I always thought lippies had a shelf life just like cream products, but a bit longer. I did a major spring clean in my makeup stash last year and I tossed quite a few lippies that had started to smell and swatch like crayons. Quite a few were Clinique GWPs, so perhaps they weren't that good to begin with. But a couple of Chanels, YSLs, Helena Rubinsteins, Diors, Givenchys and Guerlains (none of which were GWPs) also ended up in the bin. Funnily enough none of the Clinique lippies I purchased had gone bad.

Does it matter if a product has been used or not? I'm guessing products that have been used would go off quicker because of bacteria and whatnot but like I said it's just a guess.

Thanks! At first I thought it was mold but it didn't smell weird or anything. I'm still going to use them

Does it look like this? I just received a lipstick that kinda looks like this (but not as bad). I've never seen anything like it before, but I immediately suspected mold. I googled "lipstick mold" and that's the first blog post I found. I wiped the white coating off because I didn't really know if it was mold. I still can't bring myself to use it, but I'm keeping it to B2M later. It wasn't that old either (maybe a year and a half based on the collection it came from). Not a big deal though since it was free and I only paid for shipping.

i was told by a mac sales assistant recently that the 'dusty' looking coating was due to being exposed to a significant change in temperature....i had brought in a lipstick to back to mac since i thought it had gone bad, and she told me to just wipe it off...(i was glad, because i hadn't had it for very long!)

Maybe that's what it is. The lipstick I received didn't have little moldy "hairs". It was just "dusty" looking. I guess I should smell mine, and if it seems fine, I'll just sanitize it.
