MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

Today my package from mac.nl arrived (finally after a lot of extra waiting). Now that should suppose to make me happy right? Well it didn't! I ordered two lipsticks pink pigeon and party parrot and some other things. And then they included a note saying we are not able to deliver the lipsticks. But they did withdraw the money from my bank account. This was the first and last time I ordered from the Dutch website. If this is how they treat there customers then I am done with them !! I am very sorry for being so negative I know this isn't anyones fault accept from mac.nl but I had to get this of my chest.

Perhaps they'll send the lippies at a later date? My experience with Mac.nl has also been less than stellar but not sending products they accepted payment for is pretty damn unprofessional, even by their (admittedly low) standards.

My two boxes have been bumped to Monday, which is just as well. They only have one item each (SP and SW) so I'm hoping they didn't have the nerve to send an empty box with a note inside.

I've been wearing Firm Form so much lately, i've decided to get a BU! I've only done that for two other lips products - Go For It lipstick and Flaunting It liquid lip.

I've been wearing it straight. It goes on fine on my lips and is very true to tube color. But next time i'm going to experiment with lip liners - i have some brown, black, and even gold...
Ah, Flaunting It, how much I love thee! I wish there were some Kissable Lip Colours in this year's collections.

I finally got my Strength goodies when the collection went to counters on Thursday here in the UK. Lip swatches of Pink Pigeon, Absolute Power and Embrace Me on my blog (link below!).

Asked my local MAC to put aside a Party Parrot, went to pick it up..thought I'd better try it on as lipsticks often look very different on me than the advertised colour...and...straight up highlighter matt pink. No red at all. Nice texture but looked like a 99p lipstick I got from the market. Needless to say I left empty handed. SO disappointed :(

What lippie was that? The one I ordered was Strong Woman, which stuck around on the website for several days after I ordered it. So I don't think it's a high risk one like PiPi or PaPa, but you never know...

Did they at least give the poor girl her money back?

I can check if my counter has any left and if they do I can CP for you if you like?

Well I totally understand that you're not ordering from them any more. I haven't had such bad experiences as some other Nl Specktrettes but let's just say they haven't been positive. I once placed an order from MAC UK and the same day or the day after from MAC NL and the MAC UK package came first. and then I mean a week earlier or so. How

Is that? They are losing serious business. Who needs that shit anyways? Perhaps you can find a cp for future online exclusives?

My two local mac stores released this collection on Thursday went to both again yesterday and not even one of their items out of it is out of stock yet, people here might not be hyped over the collection. I was going to get Strong Woman as I love purple lipsticks but I have two Heroines and when I tried SW on it looked the same on my lips as Heroine, well I thought it did anyway. I'm happy with 2x Party Parrot and 2x Pink Pigeon that I got :D

Wow, hearing about all those negative experiences with ordering on the Dutch Mac website puts me off from ever ordering there. Ridiculously low stock, lack of timely updates, order screw-ups and surprises like "we couldn't send you the lipsticks", but still charging? No, thank you! The one time when I tried calling them to ask about an item, I had been waiting on the phone for about 10 mins, and then I just decided to hang up and forget about it!

I don't get it why they cannot get it right. It's not like they've invented something new, having all those online stores in other countries for years.

In this sense, I feel lucky I can order through my lovely CP friends and on the UK websites, because I think I wouldn't be able to handle all the drama of trying to score a popular lipstick.

P.S.: I think that you guys who got their orders screwed up should complain. Don't leave it and wait patiently until they set it right. Mac UK usually sends a free item, if they've screwed up. So does Mac in the US.

Having worked in the customer service for several years now, I have learnt that these days you HAVE to keep complaining everywhere, including social media,and then *miraculously* your problem gets solved in no time. Sometimes you get a real a**hole on the phone, and the company will give them literally anything to appease them, while a reasonable, patient person often will rarely be rewarded for their patience. I highly detest the whole whinging thing (and so do Dutch people in general, compared to customers from other countries), but it seems only that will get you anywhere.

Well I've complained a ton, but never received anything to make up for all the trouble they caused me.

I was thinking about it too. Somehow our complaining is not being taken seriously, and at certain point you just give up, cos you've got better things to do.
I wonder why this happens. Maybe because we are not experienced complainers, so we are not very convincing? Or maybe because people don't complain often here, the companies don't care if they lose this kind of customers?

I just find it so unfair that massive a**holes always get what they want and more (especially when you can smell lies from miles away), while people who truly deserve something extra for their trouble get merely a standard apology :(

And yes I did make a complaint to cs of Mac.nl, but I'm afraid they will do nothing to help me out here ( I do realize that I am far from the only one who has trouble with Mac.nl). And I hope everyone who did not recieve their complete order will get their money back. But I am just not the type who stands by and does nothing! Cause then they have won already. No matter how many people will tell me that it's no use....if you haven't tried you don't know. Keep you posted

I managed to pick up PiPi during the last restock but its still on its box, unused. I'm waiting until I finish a lipstick or two but I don't think I'll last that much longer. I'm too curious to see what it looks like on me!

I got one during the last restock too! Broke my bright pink no-buy for it, but since I used a gift card, I don't consider it cheating, lol. Do you know how long it takes to finish a lipstick or two? Way too long to wait to try on PiPi!

You go girl keep complaining! I will give it another shot too. I think I'm just going to be rude and tell them right in their face that they could have at least offered something like a free shipping code. Maybe you can try that too?
