MAC - Style Black Discussion

So for those of you asking about a difference between Blackground p/p and the Grease paintstick, I wouldn't say there is too much. Here are pics of what I wore today. The base was Blackground with Young Punk over it with Soft Brown and Fig. 1 in the crease. The Grease paintstick is the liner on my lower lash line and the winged liner is Penultimate liner. Oh, and I'm wearing the new Zoomlash, but honestly I don't find it any different from the original. Sorry for the poor pic quality it was a camera phone. The thumbnails are clickable, I had to upload them through photobucket which I haven't used since high school and that was a walk down memory lane.

^Oh and it was the end of the day so a lot of the oomph from Young Punk had worn off but I swear it looks very pretty over the Blackground

okie so my order arrived today.

I have to say WOW to the MES! The texture is amazing, very soft. Not what I expected, not chalky at all and they look surprisingly good dry. Of course even better wet..

There is quite a bit of glitter in each pot but it's not overwhelming. I just used a tissue under my eye to avoid fall-out and it worked just fine. I patted rather than brushed/rubbed on.

I don't own any other MES, I have never liked any of them enough to own them even though they look pretty in their pots.

These 3 eyeshadows blow most every other shadow in my collection (as far as "frosts" go) out of the water.

EDIT -- wanted to add I used the 239 to 'pat' the MES on, used Blackground PP as a base.

Greasepaint Stick on the other hand, an OKaaaay product... I'm glad I bought it but it's pretty much just a black shadestick.

Dries to a matte finish, goes on nice.. I guess I do love it, a useful addition to any collection.

Ok! so i got 3 of the MES

Cinderfall
Young punk.

That's it. I wasnt feelin the lip products. They were far too sheer and added no depth to red lipstick imo. It actually kinda looked like it muted the lipstick. Major bummer!
The purple Matten (Night Violet?) while pretty, i knew i would not wear.

I was going to get the GPS, but i figured i would sleep on it as it will come out with DSquared, and im not really feelin anything else in that colletion.


Oh and i got the perfect cheek blush!

Yeah, for me the MES were the superstars of this collection. I really don't normally care that much for MES, but these are different. Mac really should have given them a different name, because I think a lot of MES-phobes may pass on these without realizing how different these are from previous MES. I put Cinderfella over Macroviolet to see how it looks and it's still gorgeous 7 hours later. I haven't been this wowed by a new product (because these are really so different from other MES) since Mac introduced Starflash eye shadows.
Oh and the fallout is very minimal, but then again I used a base.
These are what I wanted NARS Night series shadows to be. Kind of sad when a Mac product absolutely blows Nars out of the water.
Did I mention how much I love these?

I'm happy to see all the MES love. I was kind of hesitant to try them but I figured I'd just find a way to make them work somehow. I was just too in love with the colors to pass on them and I'm very happy I didn't. Nothing worse than regretting passing on LE items!

I picked up Cinderfella last night and it is so freakin pretty! I might go back and also get Guilt By association this weekend...otherwise SB hauling is done for me.
